This morning, I started up my PC and noticed the GPU fans spinning far, far faster than usual at idle. A few minutes later, my monitor went dark and I heard the PC reboot. No display came back. I turned off the PC, plugged my monitor into my onboard video, and rebooted. GPU fans still spinning at 100% but I get into Windows (using onboard video). Device Manager reports GPU is still detected. I shut down the machine, remove and reseat the GPU, remove and replug the PSU cable. Machine boots, fans no longer spinning at 100%, instead they "sputter," as in they begin to spin but then stop. I recorded a 10 second video here:
I then removed the GPU and placed it in an older PC, different PSU, Moboard, RAM, etc... symptoms are exactly the same. I also tried swapping the cable from the PSU to the GPU, no change.
Does this appear to be a video card issue?
