Here are some of the first pictures of Intel's new generation "Frost Canyon" NUC based on the company's 10th generation Core "Comet Lake-U" SoC. The top-spec variant, NUC10i7FN, is powered by a Core i7-10710U SoC, which packs a 6-core/12-thread CPU with 12 MB L3 cache, up to 4.70 GHz Turbo Boost, UHD Graphics clocked at 1.15 GHz, and 25 W cTDP (configurable TDP). The middle variant, NUC10i5FN, is powered by the 4-core/8-thread Core i5-10210U (up to 4.20 GHz CPU Turbo Boost, UHD Graphics with up to 1.00 GHz clocks, 8 MB L3 cache, and 25 W cTDP). At the entry level is the NUC10i3FN powered by the Core i3-10110U (2-core/4-thread CPU clocked up to 4.10 GHz, 4 MB L3 cache, UHD Graphics clocked up to 1.00 GHz, and 25 W cTDP).

I'm curious to see what kind of price increase Intel has decided on these revamped models.

I never understood the market for these ... passive cooling in a small box ... Not a good design

What are these NUC devices used for?  TV set up top boxes?  If so, wonder if one could be configured for security cameras.  Install the security app (Win/iOS/Android?) and view your live security footage and maybe possibly using a cloud type storage for the recorded footage.

Cool GTX and GTXJackBauer, is there a reason you aren't going to Intel's website and read their marketing for the NUC?

    https://www.intel.com/con...s/boards-kits/nuc.html

You don't have to understand it, especially if the product doesn't appeal to you, but you do have to accept it in the sense that you can't do much about their choice of specs and configuration. It isn't like they don't know the target audience prior to investing in this. They know.

For Intel processors, 0.122 x TDP = Continuous Amps at 12v [source].

They're boxes for cubicle dwellers. Don't need much to surf the web and make excel spreadsheets.

My comments are about the cooling ... or lack of active cooling in the design.  Maybe its good for keeping their coffee warm

Sorry if I came off as on edge, my bad, I posted in an attempt to get away from an argument with an ignorant roommate. He's always saying 'I don't understand' but never asks questions, he just assumes I don't know what I'm talking about just because he doesn't understand. And yes, we were talking about computers. He's a refurb only person who complains about quality and doesn't understand the point for new if, 'they are all like that anyway'.

    No worries.

Just looked at the price on these things.  Better off just getting a security DVR box for much less.
