I was on my pc this morning doing some Cisco coursework when the entire folder disappeared. It's not in recycle, and I have hidden file/folders set to be shown. I've tried searching but it seems that it is just gone. Anyone ever have this happen to them or possibly know a fix? This is a major problem for me since the folder held every Cisco assignment I've done this year.

There was an issue with the October update deleting folders but I believe there was an update to solve that. In addition nothing in this world is a certainty. Always keep a backup. There are many ways to do this: 1. Use Microsoft OneDrive 2. If you don't like Microsoft manually backup to the cloud like Google Drive 3. OK if you're not into cloud based backup buy a small NAS.

If you need the contents of that folder recovery software is an option.

Any recommendations on software? Sajin Haven't had the problem myself. Sounds like you need to use... https://www.ccleaner.com/recuva
I'm running a scan now, hopefully it works. Thanks😀 Recuva found some of the files but a good portion of them weren't available to be recovered. I did get some back though which is a plus. Thx for the info.

System restore to previous save may have worked.

Agreed. Recovery software may be an option. Know it may seem like salt in a wound, but always back-up work. Even if it's backing up to a flash drive you keep handy. At least that way, you have a backup to work from.

Just to say that I somehow have my document/files back, I checked my recycle bin and then I see the big document with all my stuff in it. I had several recovery programs running including Recuva, EaseUS, iBoysoft. I don't know which program solved this if one of them did. This post maybe helpful: https://iboysoft.com/data-recovery/recover-deleted-files.html

I remember reading that one of the windows updates had to be patched because missing folders/files was a problem.
