GPU: EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 FTW3 ULTRA HYBRID GAMING, 08G-P4-2284-KR, 8GB GDDR6 (man those names lol) (Barely week old never OCed other then factory OC but has been doing this sense day 1...it is 8 days old as of today)
I have have been having some issues with this card for about a week and trying to avoid a RMA but at this point that its looking like its going to happen so asking the community for help or any steps i can take to try and fix it or figure out what it is. Any help no matter what is appreciated and I thankful for it.
I have done everything as far as i can tell that the "Basic troubleshooting steps" guide has said to do and its still happening. Thought it was the new driver...nope... Installed prolly 10 previous drivers total down the line. I tried Studio and game ready drivers. (Yes I use DDU and clean install). Thought it could be my capture card for my PS4...nope. HDMI Cables..nope. Monitor..nope. Heck I even tried under clocking the card to even below reference... didn't work either. :/ Not sure if it could be something with the BIOS of the card or something but i have also changed the switch on the card back to normal BIOS as well and issues still persist.
What is happening:
First Issue: I am getting black screens (varies from 1-7 secs) quite often. Starts a few moments after I turn the pc on and get into windows. Sometimes it can go a few hours without doing it but at other times it will happen literally every 5 sec or so for 2-3 mins (i have timed this so it is no exaggeration).
Second Issue: On top of that it looks to me like the screen is "tearing". Not the normal screen tearing like in a game mind you where you get the horizontal bar that follows the frames down the monitor. This "tearing" that I am referring to looks like someone is grabbing an edge of my screen and tearing it like a sheet of paper or taking 1-20 paint brushes and quickly sliding them across the screen but it only stays for a few milliseconds. I have attached a screenshot or two of what it looks like.
With this let me just say I love this GPU when its not doing those things. The problem is that it does them... on top of that its been happening very often... even when I have been typing this up... Though when its working right playing games at 4k is astonishing... just saying lol.
Again any help is much appreciated. Thank you for your time and have a great day! =D
P.S. I have not contacted EVGA support yet.
