Dude, I've been refreshing Amazon & newegg ,etc... every day since early July ! Been trying to do a build for my birthday but they sell out within minutes... I get an email from Amazon- > its gone...... email from newegg -> its gone .   3800X & lower have been in stock quite a bit more. I almost got the 3800x several times,.... had...to ..contain...myself....from...pushing...button....

yeah...I want the 3900X for a build for a friend....I'm not settling..either a 3900X or a 3950X...

Right now Amazon will now let you order one with in stock date of Thursday. Sort of debated doing it and sending my 3700X back to them (couldn't wait any longer). I think at this point since I'm mainly gaming, and there's not really a difference for that between the 3 top end chips right now, I'm going to hold on to the 3700X and then grab a higher core count 4xxx chip next year with hopefully improved clocks. Or, if for some reason they decide to change the socket then grab a 3950X next year when the prices drop after 4xxx release.
