This latest addition has been designed to verify the bandwidth available to the GPU over a computer's PCI Express interface. To accomplish this, the test will make bandwidth the limiting factor for performance and does so by uploading a large amount of vertex and texture data to the GPU for each frame. The end goal is to transfer enough data over the PCIe 4.0 interface to thoroughly saturate it. Once the test is complete, the end result will be a look at the average bandwidth achieved during the test.

If you already own 3DMark...it will update to version 2.9.6631.  The test is at the bottom in the middle.  Ran on my X299 FTW K with i7 7820X and RTX 2080 TI XC Black.  Averaged about 12.4 GB/s.

I wonder how much AMD paid to have the test made. It really doesn't do that much other then it will show AMD in the lead in a benchmark thanks to PCIe 4.0 support.

I think a lot of testers both amateur and professional will appreciate the bandwidth tests. Such information in the past has been limited or non-existent. I think it will allow users who have an X570 chipset with PCI-4 based SSDs to see bandwidth as compared to PCIe 3.0. Such tests can evaluate whether PCIe 4.0 is hype or the real deal.

It is being said that it is a Pointless Test by some.
New PCI Express 1.0 Test + 85% off the Cost of 3DMark Software > Offer Ends July 9 <
I think it is a good test for current and even older PCIe Bandwidth Testing.
But everyone has their thoughts about it.
