As the title says. Have trouble choosing between the two. Can get a GTX 1080 for $370 - MSI Aero I already have a waterblock laying around for it. Or An RTX 2070 for around $420 - EVGA Black, but no water block for this guy. Any input to help a tie breaker would be great.

If you have not pulled the trigger, I would suggest the RTX 2070. Its newer, faster and has more potential with the upgraded GDDR6 memory. Totally worth the price difference.

I would also feel the 2070 might be the better option. EVGA support is great while I would question if the MSI card is even new and if it's not you might be out of luck on any kind of warranty. Also you do get the new features of DSLL and Ray Tracing not found in the 1080 while still getting the same performance in older games. To me it's worth the extra cost since I don't think it's really that much when you consider the price of the cards but mainly it's about dealing with EVGA support vs. MSI.

Hands down the 2070. To find benchmarks between the 1080 and 2070 go to the userbenchmark website and look up the 2070 and compare it with the 1080 I assume you would buy the 2070 card new and the 1080 used. I'm not saying that buying used hardware is bad, but warranty is always a good thing. (i bought a used Gigabyte 1070 and it decided to start artifacting / flicker after two-ish months after buying it) but my used 1050ti / used 750 still work to this day.

If it was new -to> new , I'd say the 1080 ... but if the choice is used 1080 versus a new 2070 , go that route *new 2070

Hello Revenantx02, When it comes to EVGA products, on new units purchased from EVGA or from an authorized retailer should come with a 3 warranty unless the product specifically states otherwise. Most of these products such as graphics cards and motherboards do have transferable warranties, for confirmation on that please use this link here EVGA Warranty. If you do have any other questions or concerns please let us know here or contact us over the phone at EVGA Customer Support Line 1 (888) 880-3842 we are available 24/7 thank you.
