Hi all,

Curious if anyone with an x299 Dark upgraded to the Nu Audio card. Better? Same? I'm using the built in sound with just left right and sub for the time being. Curious to hear people's thoughts.

Cheers

I am using the NU on my X299 Dark. I had just been using the onboard with my headphones and felt the Dark just didn't have enough omph to push them. If you are using powered speakers then volume wise there will be no change, and going with an NU there will be no 2.5 sound as you are using now.

The NU is geared more for people that tend to use headphones or powered speaker setups that work with SPDIF/TOSlink

With the Nu installed now I can see where my headphones are lacking when listening to music - has made me have to start shopping for new headphones

    Hi Jon,

Thank you for the feedback. I figured that might be the case. Great to hear from someone using the real deal.

    Thank Jeff,

I primarily use speakers as I use the rig as a Flight Sim. Thanks for the info!

I have just installed the Nu on my x299 Dark.  I do notice a difference.  For right now, I have the NU going into the aux on my Marshall Acoustic Amp.  It sounds great.

I am trying to to still get the best configuration.

Sound is Great, but still lacks Dolby Digital 5.1, but we are all waiting for a Driver Update.

We have a major update coming at the end of next week (as currently scheduled).  5.1 support will be a part of that update.
