For the 10 year anniversary of my first build, I decided to give the old P55 a little upgrade. Renamed Baby ICE. The heart of the build will be untouched (except for some much needed cleaning!) Added new D-77 Case, CLC 120, Samsung 860 EVO 1TB, Thermaltake TTmod sleeve extensions +4G Dominator DDR3 memory, and some new fans. I have to admit that for a 10 year old board and CPU, everything works like when it was first build a decade ago. A real testament to the quality of the EVGA motherboards. Only real negative experience I have with the new build is if compared from building in the DG-8 case, it was very difficult building in the DG-7 Case.

Nice ! i'm still working on my dg build - there's definitely some tolerance issues with how this case was designed. Did you try routing your pcie cables through the notch under the gpu? Ignore the rats nest :P still waiting on my controller board so i can properly route all my fan cables etc :P

I like the DG-77 case and can say I never felt I would draw blood during my build. I have to agree the DG-8 has a lot more room but the DG-77 is a very nice case. Also for showing some love for the old EVGA parts have a ribbon.

yea I wish i could say building the dg-77 was enjoyable, but the entire case is literally half a CM off perfection :P they need to push the cavity behind the motherboard half a cm out ward and it'll make the cable management a LOT more feasible. They also need to push the height of the case upward half a cm and allow for the motherboard to be slightly further away from top fans...
Then they need to adjust the cut outs for Radiator mounts on the front of the case ever so slightly to increase tolerances.
Then you'd have a perfect case :P

Thanks for the ribbon! I also had a feeling of being a little tight when building in it... especially when I had to connect a sata power cable and my big hands can't reach the port when the power supply is installed.

Props to you good sir! The P55 FTW edition motherboard is one of my most favorite boards to come out of the P55 era, I miss my ECP V2 sometimes.
