So I just hooked up this new beast of a video card and turned on my PC. All the lighting and the one fan is working but I get no signal to my monitor. I’ve tried plugging the DisplayPort cable in to all slots and none of them will display to my monitor. Just a black screen. I even unplugged the power from my monitor, plugged it back in, and still nothing. Any advice on how to get this working will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Edit: And yes I have 2 - 8 Pin connectors plugged in and my PSU is 1000w if this helps at all

Edit 2: I plugged in my old video card (1080ti) which I know works because I’ve used it for the last year, and I’m still running in to the same issue with no display on monito

Edit 3: I guess should mention that while upgrading my GPU I also upgraded to 8700k with a MSI Z370 motherboard.

    Welcome to the Forum
Do you see your Screen from your Bios Screen?
Is this a Fresh OS Install or from Older Computer before you changed the CPU and Motherboard?
What was the Other CPU and Motherboard.
To many Primary Pieces of Hardware involved here.
Remove the RTX Graphics Card and use ONLY the On Board Video and see if you can Post to the Bios.

Did you reset the Bios back to the Defaults before you Installed the RTX Card?
Is the On Board Video Disabled in the Motherboard Bios?
Also did you update your Bios on your Motherboard?
    Is your Monitor a TV?
What Video Cable are you using?

I have an entirely new setup. Motherboard, CPU and GPU are all new and I can’t get anything to show up on my monitor with either one of my video cards. I can’t even get to the BIOS

No I’m not using a TV for a monitor
I am using a display port cable

I am also trying to do a fresh instal as my SSD has my old windows on it

It is not about using the two 8-Pin Connectors but about using 2 Separate PCIe Power Cables from the Power Supply to the Graphics Card.
You Must Connect to Both 8-Pin Connectors on the Graphics Card.

    https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/Z370-A-PRO
The Z370-A-PRO shows it has a DP Port.

I was going by this and MSI has a lot of different Models, sorry.

How old and what is the Make and Model of your PSU is 1000w?
     EVGA Supernova 1000 G2
Recheck each Connector 24-Pin and the 8-Pin EPS Connector on the MB and on the PSU.
    Use only One Memory Stick
What CPU Cooler are you using on the CPU? Corsair h150i

Our you can just Pull the Battery for 5-10 minutes.
JBAT1: Clear CMOS (Reset BIOS) Jumper
There is CMOS memory onboard that is external powered from a battery located on
the motherboard to save system configuration data. If you want to clear the system
configuration, set the jumper to clear the CMOS memory.

    Or Use the Jumper JBAT1
Short the Clear CMOS jumper on the motherboard.
Important Be sure the computer is off before clearing CMOS data. Please refer to the Clear CMOS jumper section for resetting BIOS.

    Resetting BIOS to default values
    1. Power off the computer and unplug the power cord
    2. Use a jumper cap to short JBAT1 for about 5-10 seconds.
    3. Remove the jumper cap from JBAT1.
    4. Plug the power cord and power on the computer.

Normally it would be on just One of the Pins and you would remove and connect it to Both Pins and the remove it and put it back on the One Pin

If you do not have a Jumper Cap then use a Flat Tip Screw Driver and Make sure you ONLY short the two Pins, use a SMALL Screw Diver.

Not a problem, I like helping others.

When I Installed my OS on my Z370 I did it all with Only the On Board Video and once the OS was Competed and all the Updates installed I then installed the Graphics Cards and at this time I Disabled the On Board Video in the Bios.

If Resetting the Bios fails and you cannot Post to the Bios then you may need to remove the Motherboard from the Case and setup a bench mode Power On Test.
You only need the CPU Cooler and One Stick of Memory to do this.
Set your Motherboard on the Static Bag that you Motherboard came in on a table.
You only need the 24-Pin and 8-Pin EPS Cable to do this.
If it Posts to the Bios then you may have an Extra Motherboard Standoff in your Case Shorting the Motherboard from starting.
Count the Mounting Holes on the Motherboard and the Number of Standoffs in your Case they should be the Same.

And you know this Monitor and Video Cable is Good?
What Monitor is this Make and Model?
Can you Select the Input on your Monitor?

Time then for a bench mode Test.
Lets hope this is not because of Bent CPU Socket Pins.

Do you hear any Beeps at all?
(No beeps at all) Checking to see if your MB has an On Board Speaker, some do not. (SEE Below) Did you connect the Speaker?

Yes, you can remove the CPU Cooler and pull the CPU and look.
Take your time doing this and lift the CPU Straight Up from the Socket.
Do this with the CPU FLAT and do not try to remove the CPU if not laying Flat.
But it could just be an Extra MB Standoff or an Pinched Wire.

Not that I should have asked first but on the Motherboard Headers you do have the Single Power Pins the  +  and  -  correct?
Also if your MB has an On and Off Button Use it.
    What Case do you have?

Is it just one Pin or More than One Pin?
"I just took out my CPU and notice the corners have a slight bend in them" Can you take a Photo and Post it?

You can also add links after 11 Posts, Sorry but editing the same post does not count but doing this way is like a Chat.
They look ok to me, "Would the bend in the CPU matter?" the Bend is normal yes.
All the Top and Top Right the Pin Look Good.
Are you thinking the Lower Left?

OK and it is late and doing this you need to be fresh, I am tired myself.
Good luck on the Bench Test tomorrow.

EVGA Supernova 1000 G2. I used this PSU for my last build and had no issues with it

Ok I rechecked everything. Should I unplug the battery for 10 min to see if it will post to BIOS?

Where is that located on the MOBO? The jumper

What is a jumper cap? Sorry for not know this stuff. I appreciate the help

Ok I tried the screw driver on the 2 pins for 5 seconds and still not getting a display on my monitor

Yes I’ve been using the same DP cable for awhile

Is it possible to see a bent CPU pin if that is the case? No beeps at all

I just took out my CPU and notice the corners have a slight bend in them

Tried to get a good shot
    m. imgur. com/gallery/gFqES8p
Had to add spaces. Wouldn’t let me add links

Would the bend in the CPU matter?

Alright well I’m at a loss for words then. I will try the test bench setup tomorrow and see if I can get it too post

    Thanks again for your help

Hey bcavnaugh I got my Computer to post. What do I do now? Continue as normal and reinstall Windows?

Pull the mb out of the case and try to post it on a box or flat cardboard. Just what you need to post to the bios.. cpu,mem and internal video connection.

Possibly a mb standoff grounding out on the backside of the mb. As in a standoff in a spot it shouldn't be that maybe was used for the old mb but not the new one.

Other then that it could be a few things like a loose power cable.. check that all your connections from your psu to your mb are tight and that none of the wires were pushed out the back side of the connector. Same for hdd and ssd.

Since the mb is new its possible that it's bad as well.

You do need .Net Framework and you do need to run "Windows Update" you need to do this First.

I am unable to connect to the internet because I can not download the necessary tools from the MSI disk. I am using my phone to chat with you

Here’s a run down of what’s been going on. I installed a fresh copy of Windows. I got to the desktop. I inserted the MSI disk that my mobo came with and ran the dvd setup. I was prompted to install .Net framework and some windows updates and so did that. The computer restarted and it ran the dvd again and the same message keeps popping up to install .net framework and update. This process keeps repeating itself over and over. I have no internet access even though the cable is plugged in

Windows 10 should have installed the basic Network Driver.
Can you set the Network Settings on the Network Card?

Did you install from here Programs and Features - Turn Windows Features on of off *.Net framework that is.
It should be on the Install Disk, is there an Auto install on the Disk to install all the Drivers?
I take it you do not have the Network Driver installed?

No I never installed anything from turn windows features on or off. Should I go in too the dvd filed and just install the network Drivers?

    Install .Net framework
But review what I said about the Network Drivers above.

    Support for Windows® 10 64-bit  https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/Z370-A-PRO/Specification
Well your Motherboard shows support for Windows 10 and not 8.1 or 7.
You can still install  .Net framework from Programs and Features - Turn Windows Features on of off

You may need to go to MSI website and see if others have installed Windows 7
Complete your OS Install with only the On Board Video and once you get it installed then Install your RTX 2080ti FTW3 Ultra Card.

Is 3.51 in the Disk in a Folder?
The Disk may not support Windows 7 or even 8.1
