hi guys.. i have x58 sli3 motherboard and my proccesor is i7-950 and i want upgrade it, i think buy xeon x5690 

and what is best proccesor for my motherboard, for gamming..
and what is difference between i7 and xeon..?

    x5690 is the best cpu for it ,but if you are going to overclock you can buy x5650/60/75 all of them will go 4ghz+ easy

    i find x5690 very cheap.. is x5690 better than i7 990x extreme??

    and is possible overclock x5690? can i with x5690 go 4ghz+ if overclock it

    its almost the same as the 990

    According to Passmark, W3690 Is best cpu for x58. It also has unlocked  multiplier. X5690 is locked if I remember right.

    I would get the w3680, it is also multiplier and buss unlocked, wil OC the same and be a few $$$$ less.
    The w3670 is not multiplier unlocked, only buss unlocked 

     Life is too short to carry a cheap pocket knife

    I have a w3690 and it's clocked at 4.5ghz. Even with a 1080ti it still does amazing. I love the x58 chip-set one of the best.

    did you change anything in bios ?
    print screen a cpu-z
    you can try reset the bios might bring the cpu in correct speed.
    cpu-z will show as the setting of the cpu.

    your multiplier is at 23x i think it should be 27x,you can change it in the bios (23x is the default for i950)

    why is my fps on cinebench so low.. my friend have fx 8300 and gtx 970 he have 75 fsp and cpu result is 646

    my is gtx 980 and xeon5690 i have 66 after put multiplier i get 71 fsp

    update your drivers,change your FSB now should be 133 make it 140 and see how it works.

    26x133=3.4ghz
    26x140=3.6ghz
    26x155=4ghz BUT!!! going from 133 to 140 usually dont need to change anything else in bios ,going 140 and above will need to change LOT of things in your bios check the 2 videos i posted above .(sure under voltage control and more)

    try increasing by 5 the FSB until you reach your goal,also keep an eye in the memory speed if your ram can handle the speed.
    use hwmonitor to monitor your temperatures while benchmarking and gaming.
