Artifact has been out for a few months now and despite Valve’s reputation, the game has faltered. The $20 price tag and lack of progression system at launch caused a drop in player numbers fairly early on. Now, progression is in the game and earning card packs through regular play is possible. However, the number of players has continued to shrink. The main issue seems to be that Artifact isn’t enticing new players and current players aren’t being drawn back in on a regular basis. I still play Artifact regularly and find matches quickly, so while the player numbers don’t look great, the game isn’t ‘dead’. Still, it is clear that Valve needs to take some steps to boost the player numbers. Let's see if Valve can rise to the challenge.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA

It's what happens when you try to bandwagon a game concept. Who needs yet another online card game? Only thing that would make it even less appealing is a Battle Royale mode.

I am guessing Valve will try to find a new game to get people to play.

Value just needs to revenue share under the table with some esports league and they'll prop it up.
