Re: I'm very strongly considering purchasing the EVGA 2070 Black, is that a good idea? Tuesday, February 19, 2019 3:58 PM (permalink)
I would say it's not worth 260 quid.....the 2080 as far as I know is only 15% faster than the 2070...

The 2070, as I recall, is about 6 to 10% faster than the 1080...

    I'd buy the 2070...
Now, if you were talking 2080 Ti....I'd have a different response..heh

To be honest, from all the forum posts I've read on EVGA and Nvidia, it's a gamble.
Don't get tempted by all the youtubers who got lucky with a non-artifacting, non-crashing, non-bsod rtx cards.
Coz I did, and I ended up with a EVGA rtx 2080 ti XC Ultra (which i paid $2000 for) that displays artifacts.......
It'll take a very long time before I can get it RMAed and replaced with a 2nd card, which is ANOTHER gamble.
If you plan to get a gpu, do more research on the one that you plan to buy and make sure it's future-proof.

If you've been using it for more than a month with no problem, you got a good card. Coz for the bad cards, they go defective within 2 weeks of use.
Good for you, man. Enjoy the card. (While you can. *jealousy kicks in)
