Hello all, im new to the EVGA forums, but my build is almost entirely EVGA.
However it is my first time with a EVGA motherboard, I ordered one on Newegg recently.
But I was wondering, with those who have a evga motherboard, how long is the boot time from post to windows on average?
im a bit worried, because evga isnt one of the more "popular" motherboards compared to the power 3. So i thought their boot time might be less, as their bios software is less "refined". But please let me know your boot times if you can

With windows 10 installed on m.2 970 evo, maybe 5-6 seconds... The time for my monitor to wake up and I can see the windows log on screen.

danzerman let me ask you this, how fast are you expecting / wanting it to be?

Anything with UEFI is fairly fast once you have your bios setup and I am not sure why you think current EVGA Bioses are not "Refined". In reality it is not just the bios it is also the connected drives and devices that affect boot times. Having a traditional sata hard drive (I am talking standard spinning drive not SSD) your boot time would be much higher then say an ssd / sata which is still slower then say a fast M.2 NVME drive. I consider anything under 30seconds to your log in screen plenty fast. As to having the system fully up and functional is another thing that is dependent on what you have loading once logged in.

It also depends on weather or not you are doing a true full power off or doing a hybrid mode shut down.

GGTV-Jon, When I'm paying a similiar amout of money for a classified K motheraboard, as i would for a similair asus or gigabyte motherboard. At the very least is it wrong to expect a similiar boot speed time for 5-7 seconds?
From the reviews i saw after buying this board, (always been a fan of evga). Vdroop is quite a issue, also apparenty, the fan speeds can only be selected in a limited present number of paramaters
ps I bought a 970 Pro, no issues on that drive speed

Feels like 3 - 5 seconds or so to flash the EVGA Classified K splash screen and then load up the Windows 10 login screen with my Samsung M.2 970 EVO 512 GB.
