My monitor is a dvi-d/hdmi 144hz 1ms. Is the cable that comes with it hdmi- dvi-d going to limit me at 60fps? If so, is there a way to solve it without buying a new monitor with a display port? Maybe amazons display port to dvi-d adapter? I can't get a new monitor until February, so if there is no fix for it I will keep using my 1080ti ftw3, and sell the 2080ti ftw3. I just don't understand why it would come with a hdmi- dvi-d adapter.

Well I believe the 2080ti ftw3 has HDMI 2.0 (not 100% perhaps the other more knowledgeable forum members can help), so as long as your monitor and GPU supports it you should be fine for 144hz.

And just to be clear do you mean the HDMI cable that comes with the GPU if you use an adapter to DVI-D will limit you to 60fps? And why it does or doesn't come with an adapter? If it would come with it then you don't need to buy one.

The 2080ti's come with a hdmi to dvi-d adapter. Just wondering if my 144hz monitor will run at that speed with the adapter included with the card or will I be limited to 60hz because of the hdmi adapter.

hmm... I don't think so. I been trying to find more information on other forums nothing points to it will limit the fps... They all seem to say it will work fine. Maybe you could try contacting EVGA's customer support for more details? They are usually quick to response too and will obviously know a ton more than I do. Sorry I can't help much but that's as much as I know. Unless someone else can charm in on this matter.

I am wondering if the adapter is a single or dual link DVI-D? I have used a different DVI-D [dual link] to HDMI connector, on a 120hz monitor before and it ran @ 120 just fine. Compare the one you have with the ones shown in my link, scroll down to connector to identify it. I think you will be ok actually.

What is the Make and Model of your Monitor?

Guess you will need to get a DP to DVI Cable or a USB-C to DVI Cable or even a HDMI to DVI Cable if your Monitor only has DVI.

You will most definitely need an ACTIVE DP to DVI adapter, which is powered to do 144Hz.  I've seen this work for some, and for others, not so much.  They're pretty expensive just FYI ( the good ones and that's what you'll want).
I had a lot of experience with this back when I owned 7970's with mini-DP.  What resolution are you using?

Noticed I asked about your resolution because it's important:

    DVI-D will not support 144Hz @ 1440p. (Max would be 90-100Hz) I believe.
    DVI-D WILL support 144Hz @ 1080p.

I listed these because the DVI-D will be the limiting factor, not DP.

Looks like that's a 1080 monitor.  You're in luck then.

I know people have had good luck with the Dell product:  http://a.co/d/0Cf3vPK  You may be able to find it on Ebay a bit cheaper.
I used the Accel products for my 7970's and they worked well, but significantly more expensive:  http://a.co/d/6rxrkbt

I didn't want to say it, but he's going to spend half the price of his monitor in order to get it working for 1080 @ 144Hz.

On the positive side, if he wanted to upgrade to 1440p @ 144Hz, Black Friday is right around the corner! :)

Keep an eye out on those Dell 1440p Gsync gaming screens.  Not IPS but way more affordable and have seen their price drop really good during these times.  I got lucky with one already.

I'm a 1ms monitor person, IPS won't work for me :) The Dell 24" 1440p 144hz 1ms is on sale right now for $380. Unless I can find some stuff to sell, the 2080ti will be shrink wrapped on the shelf until I get my tax return. LUL

Spent my savings buying this card LUL. I have the evga 1080ti ftw3 6696 in my computer already, so I didn't really need the upgrade in the card. But it was available so I got it! Just sucks the cable that comes with it isn't a DP to dvi-d adapter.

Another question. I signed up for the red trim kit 2 weeks ago. Will that be coming with my order that shipped today, or do I need to register the card and it be shipped separately?

Buy the new monitor or sell off/return the new card. No point in owning a 2080ti over a 1080ti for 1080 screen.

1440 140hz screen or ultra wide! 4k 40"+ would also work and this are super cheap atm. Bestbuy has a 43" samsung 4k screen I believe for $270ish.
