Question on Step Up start time

The Step Up page says 90 days from purchase date. How does that work with Pre-Orders? Does it start then or does it start once it actually releases(Ships)? Just curious if I preorder a 2080 now then have to wait till 9/24 to get it does that month of waiting count against the step up? Sorry if I'm over thinking this.

    The Step-Up availability is 90 days from the date the order was placed. If you have an unusually long wait between the time you placed the order and the date of shipping, we may be able to work with you on that, but in general expect 90 days from the date the order was submitted.
