Friend told me her pc was recently crashing to bsod and TDR's (which appears to be the drivers) and infrequent audio artifacts, (which I isolated to the drivers clock stepping up and down) and general poor performance which seems to have cleared up by reverting to 385.41
As i have no physical access (an ocean between us) I've been doing what i can remotely and identified that the PCI-E bus is locked at 16x 1.1, card is installed in the top most slot, latest bios is installed (1501) and no amount of load or configuration of the power settings is allowing it to increase to 16x 2.0.
ACPI 2.0 was switched on in the bios in case it might enable link state power management in this case, but to no avail.
