Hey guys, just got my powerlink and about to use it on my 1080Ti iCX which is a 6/8 pin. Question is I just took out the 8 pin that was installed on the link and installed the 6 pin but I noticed that where I have to connect the power to is an 8 pin. Do i just plug my 6pin into it?

A Corsair AX860i comes with single cables that have dual 6+2 (8-pin) connectors..Right?..Look in your bag of cables.

Otherwise, I can only assume that the PowerLink would take the same power connectors as the graphics card does since the PowerLink has just 2 rails (power and ground) and not a seperate sensing (ground) circuit like the graphics card does which would cough up an error if a 6-pin connector was used in an 8-pin socket.

Try it and find out, if need be.

Ah i see what happen, just as you said. The cable i have installed has the 8pin and the 6+2pin ( 8pin ) what i didn't see is i zip tied the +2pin back for a cleaner look. So all i would have to do is just plug that +2 in the PowerLink right ? Its been a while since i built this comp and im not getting any younger ( memory going ) lol

Yep..Just add the 2-pin connector to the 6-pin connector to make an 8-pin connector and you're good to go.

Welp that didn't work. Got it installed and no power what so ever, comp did not turn on. All I heard was the PSU clicking. So I did the self-test on the PSU by removing all cables and pressing the test button and I have full power. Link still installed and comp will not turn on. Removed the Powerlink and comp started no problem. Back to the ugly power cable in front again lol

Not sure what to tell you..I don't see why plugging in the 2-pin connector, which are grounds, would make it do that..Try it with without the 2-pin connector and just use the 6-pin connector in the PowerLink's 8-pin socket, it will fit when you have it keyed properly..Maybe Contact EVGA Support and see what they say.
