Hey there, trying to get the hang in here...

Can someone tell me if it really does matter the really small difference in base/boost clock between the 1080 ti?

the numbers are see are so similar:

1582 MHz / 1695 MHz1569 MHz / 1683 MHz1556 MHz / 1670 MHz1569 MHz / 1683 MHz1190 MHz / 1393 MHz

would the make a huge diff?

Trying to run a 4k 120hz monitor....

Split this from the "The ultimate starter-thread for new members" thread

Any EVGA 1080 Ti would be good for general usage

Some people want a certain guarantee of the cards ability - they should buy the card that has the advertised speed they want

OC is not guaranteed beyond the advertised claim

The small difference may add a few points in a benchmark score, but while gaming, you probably won't see or notice any difference...

Higher base clocks will cause the card to boost higher out of the box.

Can't help but notice that boost is not really high, 10% at best. Does it really matter? I mean, what I we talking about here, +5 fps tops?

all of those " should" hit close to the same base and boost clocks provided the cooling is up to it, the higher factory clocks usually mean the cooler is a bit better and that have been binned a bit to verify the clocks are stable, but there are many variables like what type of case you are using and such. i would say get the highest clocked one you can. if it drops a little due to heat from a less than optimized airflow in the case then i dont think you will see much difference unless it throttle a lot.
