Re: EVGA Folding @ Home Year 11 2018/03/12 07:30:49 (permalink)
I had year 11 page (i think ), requested march evga bucks and got email for em(Approved), now i see year 10 page and new request march evga bucks buttons

This is EVGA EU page. EVGA US page shows year 11 and evga bucks Approved buttons.

Something weird is going on

Edit: seems like i found missing 3/2017 request(Approved) from EVGA US page, been wondering where they send those evga bucks

So i made an error and requested folding bucks from EVGA US page? they dont transfer to EVGA EU page and my account?

I'm not sure if anybody else has the same problem, requested and have my 2M/4M points approved but don't see my EVGA bucks yet. Got 2M approved a week ago but yet to see difference, however my 4M was only approved a few days ago so i'll give that some time.

Welcome back!

For that you’ll need at least 133k points/day. Based on the following spreadsheet you’d need a 1050 ti or better.

I'm not sure if that's up to date??   My 1050 averages 140K to 150K PPD, and my 1050ti is around 175k to 195k PPD depending on the work units they get.

Hi Everyone,

As we embark on our 11th year together on this journey, we are pleased to announce that we will not be increasing point totals for the tiers.  We will keep them the same this year.  Thank you for helping to improve lives and help fight disease and illness.  We are happy to continue to provide incentive to purchase new hardware to continue the cause!

Tier 1 : 2m (2,000,000) (5 EVGA Bucks)
Tier 2 : 4m (4,000,000) (5 EVGA Bucks)

Please note the submission page still shows year 10 until 3/1/18.

Thank You,
Rob

** Please don't forget to submit any points for Year 10 before March 15th, 2018 as we will cut off submission on the following day. **

Hey Rob or anyone that might know,

Brand new to TeamEVGA and trying to read everything on the form about TeamEVGA folding.  I think this is amazing what EVGA is doing to support FoldingAtHome and us.  Are there more tiers like 50M, 100m?  I was just curious, this post was the only place I saw anything about it.  Didn't know if I'm just over looking it, or not.
Again thank you everyone for what you are doing!!

@EVGA_RobB,
Question about EVGA Bucks....I know it says it can take 1-2 business days to show up in our accounts, but I got the approval emails for December on the 6th, and still haven't seen the "bucks".
I also got a Blue Ribbon last week, which to my understanding comes with 2 EVGA Bucks, right? That isn't there either.

Edit: I don't know if it was Rob or not, but it's fixed.
Also, the PM I sent him is MIA from my sent PM folder, what's up with that?

i was reafing about the "bucks" promotion and that the username has to be the same here and over there at folding. because of my passkey I can't change my username on folding, so they are a bit different

Is there any way I can still join in on the promotion?

Will probably increase as the RTX cards are better than the GTX ones were at folding. A 2080Ti probably only needs 50 hours for the 4 million mark.

Mine 2080Ti cant quite pull that off in Windows 10. But they should definitely increase the numbers. A week at most for mainstream cards might be about right. Of course, the new cards are so much more expensive so I dont how much uptake there is. I could see a modest increase this year and a larger jump next year.

Re: EVGA Folding @ Home Year 11 2019/02/10 14:21:47 (permalink)
First of all, lets hope that EVGA renews this program for another year.  The folding community here has been very fortunate to have tremendous support from EVGA over the past 11 years!   This is entirely voluntary by them and we cannot take for granted that it will be renewed.

Realistically, the required points should be 8 million and 16 million for a 2-tiered to keep in line with historical norms.  There is always a number of people that complain anytime points increase (understandable as not everyone can hit the new targets with their old hardware) and lately the powers that be have been favoring keeping the targets unreasonably low.

For the record, I would advocate a 3 tier system with 4 EVGA bucks at each level and 5M, 10M, 16M would be good levels in my opinion, though something like 4M, 8M, 16M would not be out of line with past precedent either.  The slight increase in EVGA bucks would allow the program to not quite keep pace with inflation and addition of a third tier would ease the transition.

Whatever EVGA decides, I will be grateful for the past (and hopefully continued) support they provide the folding community!

Thanks a bunch for this program.  Not only does it help offset the purchase of new (folding lol) gear but again reminds me why I use EVGA products.  I like the values/policies of EVGA.  Again, thanks a bunch for this

Looks like it will be 10m/25m  5 bucks/10 bucks
25m is a bit steep but a 1080ti can do it 24/7  that is a lot of electricity.
I bet a lot of folders will drop out if this is the case.

I'm not sure why anybody would drop out.  This is an offer from EVGA. If you hit the mark you get bucks, if not you don't, and you're not out anything aside from the folding you were already doing.  Honestly, the previous year's requirements were a joke, to which I laughed all the way to the "buck bank" lol.

You forgot to add in 30 Days for a GTX 1080 Ti running 24/7, I run one and it hits 30M a Month. But not February PG
We will see a lot Folding For Bucks Only Folders drop off that for sure. Most can handle maybe 5M/10M.

I did mention the 1080Ti can do it in a month. I think 37M for a 1080Ti at 1.23M PPD is doable.
There is no doubt many will drop out. There are people who fold here then go to cure coin, folding coin or other teams they may fold for too. People on the EVGA crunching team may not  be able to put that much into the folding side.
And it will take 833.333.33 PPD to make 25M points in the average month. 30 days. February will need more. 31 less.
A GTX1080 maybe able to do it in a 30 day month. It will be close.
A lot of people fold with GTX1060 and 1070s, not everyone can afford high end GPUs Some folders I bet are still using 980 or 980Ti, and I bet some older cards.
Yeah there are a lot of folks that can do a couple million a day, but that is not the average folder here.

From 2/4 to 10/25 is a huge increase. It's up to EVGA ,and the program is a very cool thing that they do. But that is a huge increase to do in just one year.
Would be nice if they did that over time, maybe a couple two or three years.
5/10 this year, then 8/15 then 10/20. This way people see it coming and can plan on getting new/more hardware.

Re: EVGA Folding @ Home Year 11 2019/02/15 05:09:07 (permalink)
I was surprised year 11 (current year) was not raised from previous years to like 6M & 12M or 8M & 16 M - this current Folding Year it was a gift @ 2 & 4

10 series cards not only Fold very well, they do it while consuming much less power than previous generations.

My EVGA GTX 980 SC on air will get 475K PPD - 500K PPD as a dedicated Folder & my EVGA 1080 will easily double that PPD while consuming less Watts

The Folding Bucks program exists to Help those that Fold upgrade their hardware --> so anyone who is not on 900 series or newer hardware needs to upgrade for sure.

The other easy way to make the new goals is Fold on more than 1 GPU.

My cost is around $0.50 per Million points for electric - based on my Folding
