Ryzen 1600x vs Ryzen 2400g: CPU power

I realize that more cores and threads allow for more processing power in general, but on a basic level which CPU is better? For gaming, which would perform better, the 2400g or the 1600x (all other things being equal)?

    Unless I'm told otherwise most games only use the first 4 cores (the last time I investigated was in 2014 . That could have changed recently. The more recent games may take advantage of the next 2. Depends on the engine.

    I have twelve threads (6 cores) and Battlefront 2 uses them all.
