I am going to be upgrading to an EVGA GTX 1080 shortly, and I'm not sure what to do with my current EVGA GTX 770 SC. I think I could get about $100 here locally, not sure if I want to part with it but don't want it to gather dust either. Anyone have suggestions for uses for it? I do not have a spare rig to throw it in.

Thanks!

Keep it as a backup for troubleshooting.

    CaptainApollo13,

How long have you had your z87/i7-4770S rig?  Any plans to upgrade or get new mobo/CPU this next year?

If you are upgrading your Motherboard and will be running UEFI then Sale or give away the EVGA GTX 770 SC to someone with an older systems that could use the help.
You will not be able to use that Old of a Graphics Card in a newer Motherboard running UEFI.

A GTX 770 is not too old for UEFI.

Backup is always good to have as well! I'm in the same boat as you actually! I have a GTX 770 and was planning on upgrading to a 1080 Ti soon....well soon came rather quickly because my 770 just died. Now I don't really have anything proper to throw into my rig and have a hard time finding a 1080 Ti at a reasonable price.

I like to keep an older, but still useful, card around as a backup. If you have enough spare parts laying around, make another pc for messing around or for a server.
