This only happens intermittently. The screen will be fine and then I get a black screen, then it recovers like 2 seconds later. I have changed cables and changed the refresh rate (144 hz monitor). How do I determine if its the graphics card or the display that is causing the issue? I'm going to use a dvi-d cable and run at 144hz to see if there is a problem there also. This problem occurs much more than it did at first. At first it would only happen once every 15 minutes or so. Now it happens every 2-3 minutes I just hooked up another 144hz monitor I have through a display port and I'm currently testing that too.

Sorry I really didn’t explain what I did or tried...
I have intermittent black screen flashing that lasts for 2 seconds about every 4 minutes when using the display port.
At first I traded cables out and had issues with both cables.
My model is the BenQ Xl2720Z monitor. The monitor is a TN panel that has 144hz. The colors on this panel are incredible. Putting this next to an IPS monitor, the colors are just about as good. I’ve owned tons of TN panels and this one blows every other one of them away.
Anyway...
I have another 144 hz monitor (MSI curves 27” 1080p). When hooking up that monitor through the display port I have no issues at all.
Also the BenQ works perfect when using the DVI-D at 144 hz. It just has issues when using the display port.
After troubleshooting I called them and they promptly set up an RMA and are giving me a Pre-paid shipping label.
I love BenQ. I seriously can’t stress how nice this display looks

well looks like there rma is pretty good and easy that goes a long way on anything and like now when you need it . like in that link above maybe benq knows this is a issue with there units and just trys to take care of it .. maybe them guys with all the washed out looking screens needed to rma those as well . [not all washed out but a lot of that seen in product reviews and forums ] main thing is seeing benq trying to honor there product satisfaction looks like between you and the guy in the link above they do. pretty nice.. good luck

I had 2 BenQ monitors (in the USA), and both of them had to go back. 1 got a TON of dead pixels, and the other they replaced it with (brand new), the power button broke in 3 weeks (brand new monitor). I called a service station, and they said to drill a hole right next to the button, and use a stick to turn it on, because all of those benq monitors had that issue. I did that, and the monitor has been fine forever now, but I did have to drill the hole to turn it on. Seems they used a dumb Z shaped piece of plastic to click the power button on, instead of a --- straight line to the power button. And, every service place knew about them after they were out for 2 months, lol. Good monitor though. I wont buy them ever again, but good actual panel's they use. Good to know they still have excellent service though, and you arent out any money.
