Hello,

Hopefully someone here has had a similar problem or someone knows how to fix. I have been having issues whenever I play any game on my PC. When I am playing Siege for instance, can be 1 minute, 5 min, the screen will go back and the monitor will disconnect, but I can still hear in Teamspeak and talk to other people. Only way I can get the monitor back on is if I manually reboot. I had a similar problem about a year ago and I switched my 980ti's and it corrected the issue. It started happening again with this new card about a week ago. Anyone out there ever hear about this issue before? I've reinstalled drivers, cleaned, etc.

Specs
i5 4590
980ti

Thanks,

Does the fan on the card spin up to 100% when the screen goes black?

Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. Today when I fired it up, was playing for like 2minutes before it cut off. Fans were set to Auto. Never cranked when the monitor went black. Remained the same.

What is the make/model/age of your psu? Are you using a displayport cable? If yes, is the cable vesa certified?

I had this issues with my GTX 970. It's some weird driver bug. Using DDU I was able to fix it. It's caused by the driver crashing, but you'll very rarely actually see the message by windows because causes the hardware to think there is no monitor running.

Sajin - I have a EVGA SuperNOVA 550 GS Power Supply. I bought the unit at the end of 2015. Yes I am using a display port cable and it is verified.

Fearpoint - I will give that a shot and see if it helps. Thanks for the suggestion.

Tried using DDU then reinstalled the drivers. Didn't seem to help.

Does the same issue occur while using the hdmi output on the card?

Same issue occurs when running the card in a different pci-e slot? Have you tried to power the card with a different set of pci-e power cables?

No problem man, going to continue and try different things. Might buy some new power cables and maybe that'll do the trick. Forgot to post, but this is my build, don't know if that helps.

may try to test the card in another computer   but whats a wrench in this is you claim  ''I had a similar problem about a year ago and I switched my 980ti's and it corrected the issue. It started happening again with this new card about a week ago.''

seems like if it was not the card then that issue would not take a year to pop back up   like a PSU issue  should of popped up  pretty quick  so to say .

under windows event log   pull it up and see if it listed a error at the times this happens

    https://www.howtogeek.com/123646/htg-explains-what-the-windows-event-viewer-is-and-how-you-can-use-it/

your boards bios 1.50  shows  3.Update VBIOS .   ??   if your not running it or later maybe  some handshake issue  between that boards bios and certain cards used ??   then still you'd think the issue would pop faster then a years worth

when you do a fresh driver install  maybe use custom install and uncheck all but the card driver   [like uncheck NVidia hd audio  so it don't install for example ]  maybe some crazy conflict pops up under a extreme  once a year condition

in the end for me its hard for me to try to run a gaming rig with a top end kind card / build and all + any overclocking on a 550w  unit  [I think that unit you got is really a 540w  on the 12v]   lots of times well the majority of the times   guys with these type issues tend to be running  lower powered PSU's    and find full load full system stress on them may not be too good a deal
    good luck

also running a non K intel cpu  on high speed memory  may not have great results   non K prefer 1600 memory   cause you may need to OC the CPU to make the memory stable  over 1600

maybe sajin knows if the driver your using still has that debug mode to try out ??

I had a new to me 970 doing it with the 390.77 drivers, and thought it was a bad card, put my 760 back in with a fresh 390.77, and it started doing it. Swapped back to 381.89, and it was good to go, put the 970 in with better cooling and 381.89, and it's rock solid.

There may be a driver install issue or something, but I use DDU in safe mode before any driver change.
