http://www.nvidia.com/object/nv-uefi-update-x64.html obviously we can't update our EVGA Cards with this NVIDIA updater. But could the EVGA BIOS team update their "GTX 980 SC ACX 2.0" to this current Version? Thanks ps: I attempted to Update, but is not even possible to flash an Reference GTX980 nvidia BIOS to an ACX 2.0 ( Wrong PCI index/mismatch ) not even working with the modded nvflash ( with all checks bypassed) edit: ups sorry, wrong forum

Thanks for the info. I understand that this tool can check if an update is needed. That's fine. But: I thought GPU BIOS were issued by vendor (e.g. EVGA). I admit I don't know well about this, can anyone add anything? Am I totally whacked off track, the daftest cabbage in the cabbage patch?

I was under the impression that this updater works with all card brands including EVGA. I have an EVGA GTX 980ti SC+ and updated yesterday and it seemed to go fine. I have no way to test the update though as I don't currently have one of the new 4K HDR 144HZ displays. My display is a DELL 1440P 144HZ G-Sync and all seems fine.

I'll lazily copy/paste from the other post - I did this update last night and *voila * - I can actually see the Bios load screen & splash logo at boot now while using a displayport cable. Can't believe it took nvidia or MS this long to figure it out and fix it. *update went pretty quick , requires a restart and I haven't seen anything adverse side-effect , yet ....

oh you might be right, thanks. For me wasn't working, probably because i modded my BIOS. I'll try to flash back with stock BIOS and after that i try to update with the nvidia firmware updater.

I read on Overclock.com that the update wont work with modded bios but you should be good to go with the stock one.:)

Try using the latest version of nvflash. Also make sure you use the -6 command.

bdary How many of these threads do we need? > https://forums.evga.com/NVIDIA-BIOS-firmware-Update-for-HDR-and-Displayport-m2826850.aspx
Threads have been merged.

Seems to happen whenever there is a Universal /non-specific GPU / update; every GPU section gets a new driver thread ..... type post Maybe One Thread in say General Hardware - would make a good place to Post about Universal type GPU updates - Drivers - flash tools .... ?? If the update applies universally

Hi, That tool says my Kpe 980 Ti's don't need the update as possibly the fact I updated the GOP like eight months ago may have updated that code back then? Kind of odd that an old card like the 980 Ti doesn't need it.. Thanks

Heh, only took 3 years. Wonder if it will bork my system or not. I have a 1.3 cable now (borrowed money), and my older 144hz DP monitor, and UEFI. Told you guys this was the problem way back when my 1st card went out. :P

I have an EVGA Geforce GTX960 SC 4GB (04G-P4-1962-KR) and this update worked fine. No issues.

Grrr, I just did this update. It did the update just fine, but when I reran it to check to see if it worked or not, it set my Titan X to only output 1024x768 @ 64hz, with no way to change either one. I finally had to uninstall everything and reinstall, and it gave it back to me. But, there are 2 issues now: 1. The screen is VERY VERY dark now. It seemed to have gone from 1000 nit brightness down to 200 nit. :( It was fine, then it turned on G-Sync, and it went even brighter, and when I turned Gsync off thats when it went very dark. 2. I am getting MUCH less performance now. MUCH less. And, I was already getting less 3 weeks after I got this rma'ed card. So, now its down from a steady 60 fps (never went down at all) in The Crew 2, to 41 to 55 FPS. What is that all about? Is there a way to fix this? 3. Everything is HUGE now! The scaling is all messed up. Everything is about 2 to 3x the size it was before. No matter a video game or a web page, the size is so much bigger now. THIS is killing my gaming, as huge things right in front of me on a monitor makes me physically sic. It makes me nauseous, then starts to give me a migraine. I can even get the dry heaves from it. Is there a way to uninstall this update, does anyone know? I am pretty mad about this. :(

You'll need to reflash your cards vbios with a vbios that doesn't have the fix applied to it.

Well, the scaling is back to normal in websites now. The screen is a little brighter but not like usual, but better. Performance is still bad though.

Does this tool update the main vBios of the graphics card? Or is there a separate part of the vBios that is only for the DisplayPort? Reason i am asking is because i don't see any changes to the vBios after performing this update (still on 84.00.1F.00.90) and the factory overclock of my two Titan X (Maxwell) cards remains intact (and that's good news). I find it unlikely that nVidia has gathered vBios files for every single GPU that is listed under "Supported Products" from all the different brands and their custom-pcb's (not to mention the factory overclocked variants of the cards). This is by no means a complaint, i am happy the Update went smooth lol, just wondering if the DisplayPort is updated seperately to the vBios.
