Hi everyone, so I picked up the new CLC 280 and after installing it my top PCI slot doesn't seem to recognize my video card. Here are some specs:

Asrock Z270 SLI Killer
I7 7700K
GTX 1080
EVGA CLC 280
Corsair LPX RAM
EVGA 850 watt PSU

I'm a fairly experienced builder and I did all my double checks. With the video card plugged into the top slot the fan kicks on when the computer starts then just slows to a stop, plugging the monitor into the MOBO using the integrated graphics shows the desktop and that "no hardware detected" The top PCI slot is confirmed to be working with my Noctua cooler installed but not when the CLC 280 is in there. The bottom PCI slot works but is not preferred because it restricts air flow as it is an open style cooler and it's right up against the PSU shroud. The 1080 is confirmed working when tested on a different rig and when trying to use a 1050 in the problem computer once again the top slot does not work but the bottom one does just fine forcing me to use the bottom slot or integrated graphics. The pump and fans for the CLC 280 is plugged into the CPU fan header and all connections are good. Tried resetting CMOS to no avail. Really not sure what is going on here and hoping you guys can help. Thanks!

I would ask Asrock.
Their is nothing an AIO CPU Cooler has that would cause this other then maybe you over tightening the Screws.
Pull it off and check for Bent CPU Socket Pins.

OK I'll try that and report back. I also contacted EVGA technical support and the guy sounded befuddled and could only suggest that I try the header made specifically for the water pump, I don't see how that would fix it but I do appreciate that they got a technical support person on the phone within minutes.

According to the manual you should be using slot#2 not #1

Sorry you're right I should have been referring to it as slot two not "top slot" the card in PCI slot 2 does not seem to be registering when I have the CLC setup

I think you may be right, I have a friend with a similar build. I will be swapping CPUs with him to see if the symptoms are the same. Thanks, will report back in a few days with the results!

You should also test your CPU in your friends MB to make sure it is ok.
