He leaves behind a fantastic catalog of music in the pop and country genres. His last album 'Adios' was released only in June of this year. RIP Mr Campbell.

I never got to meet him in person , but my sister & later husband did . His brother Gerald (who I met once) owned property at a private riverside subdivision (if you call being in the woods by the Trinity River a subdivision) . They had security at the front gate to keep out the paparazzi  out . She said he was a real nice person . Gerald owned Campbell Insulation in Houston , Tx and bankrolled him in his early years .

Sadly the last few years of his life he had Alzheimer's which resulted in him being put into a home where he could receive 24 hour care. I am grateful he didn't have to suffer so very long and his music lives on. His last album being released in June with the title of 'Adios' is his final good-bye.

I was a fan. He was a big part of my life growing up. It seemed his records were always being played on the radio or he was on TV. He was partly responsible for putting a lot of pop into country back in the seventies. But Glen was and always will be one of the greatest pop artists ever IMO. He started out as a sessions musician and later started writing for himself.

Check this clip out. The coolest version of this song I've ever seen. Who new?

Look for Campbell to wipe a tear from his eye at the end. So good, and then one of the guys in the band wants to play Galveston.

I'm not sure what I did but here it is again. I also corrected it in the original post.
