What are the differences between the (old) 400-HY-5388-B1 and (new) 400-HY-5598-B1 and which would be better for the Titan Xp?

Thanks, but the questions are the differences between the 400-HY-5388-B1 -v- 400-HY-5598-B1 and which would be better for a Titan Xp.
The only differences I see are the shroud and fans being slightly different. The fan looks slightly larger and looks to be circulating case air instead of acting as a blower, while the shroud specifically says "1080 Ti" (the 5388 simply said "EVGA Hybrid"). The compatibility page lists the 1080 Ti FE, so it will be compatible with both the Titan X and Titan Xp as they all use the same PCB layout and design. The only thing to keep in mind is this version may exclude one thermal pad for the VRAM since the 1080 Ti comes with 11x 8Gb memory chips around the core while both the Titans have 12x 8Gb memory chips. Another thing to keep in mind is if you plan to reattach the backplate, the Titan X and Titan Xp have one solid capacitor on the back that has a thermal pad on it to make contact with the back plate that the 1080 Ti does not have. That will need to be replaced as well.

Installing the Hybrid kit was annoying. I'll never do it again. Instructions were terrible and one of the hex screws broke off inside when tightening.

Did you Break your Titan Xp when you installed it? Were you using an Elect Screw Driver?

No. I have a 1080 ti from step up.
I used a computer 4mm socket screwdriver for hex. All manual. Either the screws were cheap or I applied too much pressure and the hex head broke off.
Either way...more trouble than it’s worth.

In my case it was the one on the top-left with the PCI-E pins facing down. Thankfully I didn't break the head off. I did, however, break the head off one of the back plate screws...
