anyone using msi afterburner with their evga 1080ti FE cards?

i'm trying to increase the voltage on my card to oc it further.

so far i'm stable at +150 core + 300 memory, for effective 1975~2025 at full load (for some reason it fluctuates between 1970~2025). Temps under full load or benchmarking is 55 in games, 62 in benchmarks. i have evga hybrid kit installed.

currently Power slider has been increased to 120% in afterburner.

i'm trying to hit 2100mhz, but i'm going to need to increase the voltage somehow.

is it even possible to do it on FE cards?

i did check on "unlock voltage" under afterburner's settings. but no luck. i also tried all 4 options on the right (msi, msi extra, normal and third party).

any ideas?

If you're using AB 4.3 then it won't unlock the voltage unless you mess with some settings files. You need the beta v4.4 for it to unlock on 1080Ti cards.

I should probably mention now that increasing the voltage slider won't actually increase the voltage on a clock by clock basis. It will still use the same voltage for the same clocks no matter what the slider is at. Adjusting the slider will just allow the card to run at a higher voltage, which will allow it to run at a higher clock speed. If you want the same clock speeds at higher voltages then you need to decrease the offset and increase the voltage slider. That will cause the voltage to increase while using the same clock speeds, due to the reduced offset.

Just increase the voltage to max first and see if it crashes while +150 @ 1.09v If not you might just have a good stable card.

How to unlock the voltage slider when using msi afterburner 4.3...

Note: Increasing your voltage isn't going to help you reach 2100 in benchmarks if you're already hitting the power target/power limit.

    could you elaborate?

i'm just trying to see how far this thing can be pushed under a hybrid kit. Honestly i'm happy with the 2025 oc, but i threw down $160 for this hybrid kit. you bet i want to find out how far i can take the gpu.

The faster your card hits the PT the faster it will downclock MHz & voltage. Allowing the card to use more voltage by increasing the voltage slider makes it hit the PT faster, so if you're already close to hitting the PT increasing the voltage is just going to make you throttle faster.

If you use the latest Precision XOC 6.1.6, you would be able to increase the voltage to about 1.093v for this Pascal card. Some may call this a shameless plug

...an untrammeled flow of words in an open forum.
