Hi, i was wondering which are the best ones out there. I have looked at newegg and the price varies from 10 all the way to 80 bucks. Expensive one being from thermaltake. So which ones you guy use. The reviews didnt add much some say cheap ones work others say they dont. Im looking at x16 speed ones for generation 2. What would you suggest.
Thank you, Ghost.

OK, I did a lot of research on this and I came to the conclusion that Thermaltake is (Deleted for Foul Language) for a lot of things. Cables are one of them. I do like their cases and some fans.

I WOULD NOT TRUST A PCIE EXTENDER CABLE THAT HAS MORE BAD REVIEWS THAN OTHER HARDWARE IN THE SAME CLASS. IT CAN DAMAGE YOUR COMPONENTS SO DON'T CHEAP OUT!!! Get a good one and CYA. Also, I don't feel like being a guinea pig. However, I own a P5 and also need a cable.

I have heard good things about the company Digi-Key. They sell all sorts of components and seem to cater towards the enterprise market. Start here. They also seem to have some sort of relationship with 3M so, reputation is a plus.

I also found a "review" on YouTube.

Also there is no "Gen" of cable. It's either x1, x4, x8 or x16.

I'm not saying go with them 100%, I'm just saying they seem pretty legit so that would be another option. Good luck!

I just bought the EZDIY pci ex 3.0 (New) cable.  so far, it's been working awesome!  gpu running at 3.0 speed.  amazon is currently out of stock.  but this is the model I bought.

Sweet. Thats the website i found the other one. Im glad you can confirm it works. What graphics card are you using with it. And i was wondering if use any supplementary power ( evga power boost or mobo additional 6 pin pci e power). It is an awsome price for a 30 cm.

the EZDIY (New) doesn't need an additional power connector.  it's just the cable.  I have verified I am running Strix 1080 @ PCIEx 3.0  also, I have a 1500 Silverstone Strider 220v capable PSU.  I've read somewhere--I cannot remember where--that a stronger PSU helps.  so anything under 1000v may have some FPS drops, but not much that you'll notice.

also, MNpctech just released their new version.  It's much more expensive, but I trust their brand 100%  theirs is $59.  you should PM Mnpctech here for more info.  I'm also using a new Thermaltake Core X71 Tempered Glass addition.  it has the vertical GPU pci connection with a GPU support bracket that has the holes where you can physically attach which ever cable you go with.

    Nice rig. 👍
Iam putting together z87 gryphon and was looking for a case. That one cought my attention too. But I ended up getting this one.
    https://m.newegg.com/products/N82E16811854053
Gryphon is a matx board i was planning on moving my 780 to the lowest slot in the case. I have x58 762 in xigmatek elysium which is huge! So i was trying to move away from big cases. I also have a TT armor aluminum case that i want to mod and i was thinking of using mATX board with it as well. Im planning on adding pci e raisers to it too.
Thank you for the info. I probably will order cheaper pci e cable for now cause it's better fits my budget. Im hoping to snag 1080fe at a decent price for the same build as well. We shall see. Just have to save some monies. I dont want missus to get nervous. 😲
