I originally had purchased a 980 Ti FTW last March.  I then did a step up to the GTX 1080 SC ACX 3.0.  I now am given the opportunity to upgrade to the ICX version of the same card for $100.  My question is, am I still going to be able to do a step up to the GTX 1080 Ti?  Since my original GTX 1080 SC ACX 3.0 was a step up card.  If not then I won't even bother upgrading to the ICX version of the card.

    Thank you for the quick reply!  One more question, since I did not technically purchase the 1080.  What MSRP will be used when I step up to the GTX 1080 Ti? The original price for the GTX 1080 iCX?  or the new one currently listed?

    The MSRP you will receive will depend entirely on the direct ICX equivalent upgrade before the 1080 price drop.
     
    Your ICX upgrade would be the SC2 (08G-P4-6583-KR) and the MSRP value of that card would be $649.99

    What I am assuming is, the icx isn't a step up. It's an upgrade which includes a new 90 day step up window for $99. I just sent my ACX in 15 minutes ago.

    Sorry but ive never seen anyone from EVGA say a step up card can be stepped up a second time.Granted they are not considering the ICX-ACX a step up but it is stepping up a 1080SC that was already used in the step up program to a 1080 TI

    Correct iCX upgrade is a separate program and Not a Step-Up 
     
    Also You can not Step-Up from a previous Step-Up is also correct

    Cool what i was pointing out is the card is already been stepped up,nowhere  do i see a disclaimer allowing a double step up as a feature of the program.I didnt want him to be mislead.I may be wrong but i cant find anything to contradict it

    When a rep says one thing and the EVGA website terms and conditions say another, its a issue to be explored properly. As a customer im being told one thing by a rep and the website says otherwise...

    I'll agree that there is some overlap in EVGA terms between the two seperate program.
     
     
    The iCX Upgrade was a special one-off limited offer.  Seems the rules were written to allow the Step-Up from the iCX upgrade.
     
    I am not an EVGA employee, so someone could contact Customer Service for an Official response. 
     
    However in post 1 , OP made it clear about the Step-Up history and EVGA_MDecker responded

    ya know what its moot anyways ,it ended on Feb 28th ,as his first post on the matter was asking if he could,and it doesnt matter now .the program is closed before he even asked and decided

    i got your point clearly, what i was pointing out was in the same area it says the ICX step up is to follow the step up guidelines. yes a 1080 acx is clearly covered as worded,but it no where says a stepped up card is allowed to be stepped up .It defaults to the step up programs terms and conditions.
    So as worded a card getting the icx is bound to the terms of step up after received, a step up can not be stepped up.  
     
    As worded and defined by the program , the ICX card must follow the STEP UP Programs terms and conditions.
    IE a step up card can not be stepped up. If the 1080 SC was new , it would qualify clearly. But since the 1080 ACX is a step up card it follows the rules stated in the program.

    Please be aware, to kill all confusion. Any 1000 series ACX card that uses the icx upgrade program is able to utilize a 90 day step up. Previous step ups do not apply, as the icx upgrade wipes the record clean and opens a brand new 90 day window.

    Plain and simple, it does not matter how the 1000 series acx card was acquired, even second hand, once the icx upgrade takes place.

    The $99 basically pays for a clean record with 90 day window, brand new icx card, and a t-shirt.

Is there any way to not have to send my card in, wait for the ICX card to come back, and then send it back in just for the 1080Ti? It seems like a waste of time, shipping, and manpower to me and wondering if there is any exception there for those who just want to upgrade to the 1080 Ti.

    No, I had already stepped up previously and it's been more than 3 months anyway. I just wish I didn't have to do this ICX step. I'd gladly the pay the extra $99 for the ICX upgrade if they wanted it so that I don't have to wait weeks for shipping :/

    Okay so, then yes you would need to complete the icx upgrade and then submit for the 1080ti. No expectations on that

    I understand, but it seems like a waste to package it up, pay for shipping, send it out and wait a week, then have some employee there do whatever they have to do and pay to ship it back out. Then I would literally just slap another shipping label on the box and ship it right back to step up to the 1080 Ti. Like why... I'll pay the $99 ICX upgrade but don't do that extra stuff, it's a huge waste and very backwards.

    Bright side is by that time hopefully they will be far along in the step-up you wont have to wait long at all. And maybe just maybe they might have a SC ti to step to.
