Hi. I want to know something. First i have 6700K stock and monitor Black Hawk 1ms 1080p. Listen. In past i change from Gtx 980 Ti Xtreme Gaming to Gtx 1080 Xtreme Gaming and i gain 10-15 fps more in GTA V. Yes using 1920x1080. Question is now next. How much again i will gain fps going from Gtx 1080 Xtreme G1 to Gtx 1080 Ti reference?Playing on 1920x1080 60hz still.

Very minor if any. Ti is mainly for those with a higher monitor res and hz.

1080 Ti is overkill for 1080p. You'll be CPU limited in many games, even if you overclock your 6700k. And you should definitely overclock that thing. 4.5GHz is pretty much guaranteed.

First things first: As others said in previous posts, at 1080p you do not need a 1080TI. Now, since you insist in getting a number I will tell you this: The jump from 980Ti to 1080 is bigger (28nm -> 16nm and new arch.) than it is from 1080 to 1080 Ti. So, if you got 10-15fps from your previous jump I think this time you would get a max of 10 fps more tops if you are lucky. Again, not worth the trouble.

Totally agree. I was using a GTX 1080 FTW Hybrid with a 6700k, 16gb 3000hz Ram, 1080p 144hz G-Sync Monitor. Now even with high GPU/CPU usage I could not max out games like Witcher 3 or Crysis 3, but they ran very well. Then you had most of the other games that ran Crazy like. Fallout 4 over 200fps but low CPU usage. Shadow Warrior 2 High fps, low cpu usage. I knew I was going to get a GTX 1080 ti, so decided to sell my 1080p 144hz G-Sync Monitor and purchased a Dell Monitor, S2417dG 1440p 165hz (Revision 4). I know there are many people who don't like TN Monitors but I wanted a 24inc, 1ms response time, very nice looking but understated Monitor which did not cost me an are and a leg. £445 brand new from Dell direct . I know with any 1440p Monitor I should get around 70 to 100 FPS in most games with decent CPU usage, and with G-Sync they should run very smooth. Forget 4k and get yourself a 1440p Monitor .
Asus X570 Dark Hero, Ryzen 5900x, 32GB Crucial Ballistix 3600mhz, RTX 3090 FE, 500GB Samsung 980 Pro, BX500 Crucial 2TB, Be-quit 500DX, Corsair AX1000, Razer Basilisk U, Asus Scope TKL Deluxe, ASUS PG279QM G-SYNC. ** I miss the days when EVGA made great GPU's - GTX 1080 Ti FTW3 HYBRID she was so Sexy ***

I also have Asus rog swift with TN panel (the very first model) and won't say anything bad. Yes it is a TN but my second display is with e-IPS panel and really can't see a difference in colors. Only downside for TN is angle view but if you game then you obviously sit behind the display and use a mouse thus the angles are not an issues.

Watch JaysTwoCents video in his 1080ti review. He went all the way back to the 980ti in comparisons. He got about a 30%increase from 1080 to 1080ti (35 fps average in gtaV). Didn't check his processor but probably minimum a 7700k. You realise that your monitor running at 60 hz is not allowing you to see or feel more than 60fps right? (Let's skip the fps vs hz definitions) So it really doesn't matter if you are running the fastest GPU in the world, you won't get a visual benefit at all. If anything your getting a ton or tearing and doing yourself a disservice. Spend your hard earned money and get a better monitor as others have suggested. Edit: I might add that your G1 has very decent cooling and the time reference will likely throttle unless you keep the fan at high RPM and are willing to run it LOUD. You might not gain a lot with that being said and have a louder system. I know it's tempting but don't lie to yourself.

Yah as others have said the 1080 Ti is overkill for 1080p 60fps. However the extra power would allow you to run 4x MSAA or 8x MSAA and completely max out everything and still likely hold 60fps. I know when I had 2 x GTX 980 Ti cards I could run GTA5 with everything on highest settings with 4x MSAA / TXAA and it would hold 60fps rock solid at 1080p. I upgraded to a 1440p 144Hz Gsync screen recently though so I've had to turn down settings to get it to hold ~100-120fps.

Bigger is better, definitely get a nicer monitor when you are able to sew. Preferably with G-sync! I don't think you will notice much with current monitor.

As others have stated, the GTX 1080 Ti is capable of consistently producing triple digit frame rates at 1080p with vsync disabled. If you have it enabled at any resolution at 60-75 Hz your card is not going to render beyond 60-75 FPS. So if a cheaper card can achieve the same consistent frame rates with vsync enabled the return of investment is approaching its limit. Also, the point of gaming is to enjoy the experience - not stare at the FPS counter. However, as a computer enthusiast, no one should stop you from going all out on a 1080 Ti even if you can't maximize its full potential. If you have the means and desire to get it, go for it because that's what computer enthusiasts are. No need to overthink, just do it. It's like a car enthusiast who owns a high power monster for daily driving at the speed limit. They buy it because they like it. On a side note, I sold my GTX 970 SSC a few months ago and recently picked up 40" Samsung KU6290. The I7-6700K doesn't support HDMI 2.0, so I'm stuck at 2160p@30Hz until custom 1080 Ti cards become available.

LOL yea, you'll see higher numbers. IMO, there's no need to get OCD on FPS counters while gaming on a monitor. However, if you plan on getting a VR headset, then high FPS is important because you want to minimize frame time for improved immersion and reduced likelihood for motion sickness. Think about this... I'm going to be gaming at 4k and my average FPS will probably hover around 55-65 FPS on AAA games. I do plan on disabling antialiasing on games like Rise of the Tombraider since it looks great with or without AA enabled. It'll be locked at 60 Hz anyway.

My system knocks VR out of the park... and that's with a 1080. I'm upgrading to the Ti because of a $150 step up... not because the 1080 can't handle VR. As for motion sickness, does FPS really have a lot to do with it? I've been pretty good with it so far the only thing that has gotten me queasy is the new ISS app and the simulated weightlessness had more to do with it than fps meters.

That Ti is a complete waste right now and cannot spread its wings until you go 1440p at the bare minimum. Please do the card justice and get a quality monitor ASAP with G-Sync. You will be in gaming heaven!

the gains at a stock 6700k specially if not overclocked when going for a gtx 1080 to a 1080ti will be very limited as cpu bottle neck will be bigger. i would go at least 1440p like other posters have said. as your 1080p 60hz monitor could be driven easily by a less powerful card and anything over 60hz does not benifit you much with a 60hz screen. So at the moment you are probably overkill at 1080p 60hz with your gtx1080. the gtx 1080 can even manage 1440p at 60fps so you are very overkill if you run a 1080ti with a 1080p 60hz
