I bought a EVGA GTX 1070 SC early december 2016.
Super happy with it, but I found out only today about the -possible- overheating issue.
My card is performing perfectly imo, temps never go above 70C degrees; about the vram: I do not know if those get too hot as I have no ways available to measure that.
But the discussions have me worried.
So I just downloaded the updated VBIOS (86.04.50.00.72), my current BIOS is a older one (86.04.26.00.70).
Plus I ordered the additional thermal pads, awaiting shipment now.
My questions are as follows as I am always very cautious with flashing anything:
-I read on these forums that cards shipped after November 2016 might already be fixed, I bought mine in a regular local pc store on Dec 4.2016, is there a way to check if my card might already be fixed (I guess not) or is it better just to put the thermal pads on it -just in case-?
Current stock BIOS:86.04.26.00.70, downloaded VBIOS:86.04.50.00.72
-I take it placing those thermal pads will solve any overheating issues permanently?
-Do I still have to update the VBIOS to the latest one (which apparently just puts more work on the fans) should I plan to use the thermal pads?
