Hello,
My PC does not have UEFI support and there is not a BIOS option to disable secure boot or any legacy options.  So, if I want to upgrade my card, it has to work on the old BIOS platform.

I previously purchased and had to return the PNY version of this card (nVidia 610) due to incompatibility with my PC.

Based on the sticky in this forum (UEFI BIOS for 600 Series), it sounds as if the EVGA version of this card does not have UEFI support and would work on my system.

Before I purchase the card, can anyone verify and maybe even confirm that this didn't change at some point in the manufacturing process?  I.E. the cards still on the market do not have UEFI support and can be used in older systems?

This is the specific card I am looking at:

EVGA GeForce GT 610 DirectX 12 (feature level 11_0) 02G-P3-2619-KR 2GB 64-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card

This will all depend on your motherboard and its bios to be up to date enough to support the newer hardware. It is best to contact the motherboard manufacturer to confirm if your model is able to support Nvidia's 610 series

The EVGA GT610 is now working.

Can I assume, that the EVGA GT 640 is the best card I can get from EVGA?  Meaning that the 700 series plus will require a UEFI bios?

680 would be the best single gpu if you can find one. 700 series and above will use uefi.

700 series cards do have UEFI bios but do not require a UEFI bios on the motherboard. The motherboard itself just needs to be up to date enough to support newer hardware.

Yes, so HOW do we get a UEFI BIOS - do EVGA support email us one? Damn card is useless without it

You'll need to ask tech support if they have a uefi vbios for your card.

And they do not... clearly the only people selling GT 610 with UEFI is ASUS... so basically buy their product if you want proper support :(

We do apologize about the confusion. The GT 610 is a card from 2012 and having legacy BIOS for that card is giving it proper support. The 700, 900 and 10 series cards support UEFI natively and we would recommend one of those models if that is what your motherboard requires. If you ever need product information before purchasing a product, please reach out to us directly at 888-881-3842, we have 24/7 Customer Service and would be happy to help.

It might be a 2012 launch card  but it is still being sold new in stores.   That would be like Ford saying, "we launched the Focus 10 years ago, but we do not support wheels on the car now as it is legacy product".

Your OWN website still lists it and does not say "This is a legacy product and doesn't support UEFI that was introduced some years earlier with Windows 7 (2009) and we have no intention of offering support for it". A current product of yours does not support UEFI that come in with Windows in 2009. So yes, that is not what I would call "proper support". You obviously feel differently!

I apologize for the confusion; a graphics card will function in a UEFI motherboard even if the card itself does not support UEFI. Normally this is achieved by either enabling CSM support, or changing a mode to disable UEFI functionality another way depending on the motherboard. I was able to install an 8800 GTX in an X99 motherboard without issue, for example, and that didn't require any setting changes at all.

Ah, so switch off UEFI? Are you for real?    BEsides I am using (or NOT in this case) for OVMF VMs which require UEFI cards.

No, you would just need to disable UEFI for the GPU, and can leave it on for the other components. In this case, it sounds like that isn't an option.  Unfortunately our 610 does not support UEFI; I would have to recommend purchasing a GPU that supports UEFI natively, like a GT 710.
