OK So I had to RMA my 780 Classy. They Sent me a 780 TI Classy was happy with that of course. A little bit up an upgrade to make up for the hassle ... But when I installed it and ran a GPUZ it comes up exactly like a Regular 780 Classy ... Did they send me a rebuild that couldn't handle the TI clocking? .gif)

Looks like they sent you another 780 classy. Why do you think they sent you a 780 ti classy?

That would be wicked. That actually qualifies as cruel and unusual punishment. This poor member is going to require years of therapy. I smell a lawsuit.

You sir, and your three post rule... lol. Removed the other two copies for you. I wonder what happened when they went to ship the card. I could easily see overlooking the ti on the cooler. It is just a sticker in the end.

OK so the sticker is now under the Plate I installed back on the card and the card is back in the machine. Regardless , If they are so messed up to be using the wrong parts I don't want this FrankinCard made up with what ever was laying around! I will post a pic of the side see it now in the original post above.

Hmmm... Does the serial number sticker match the part number of a ti classy? The sticker should be as you said on the pcb under the backplate. I'd call evga, or email them. Also, try a clean install of the drivers.

Sajin So wrong cooler & backplate.
not sure the purpose of this post.... It was MY Backplate that I took from my correctly marked 780 Classy that is installed now. Dismissing the wrong parts being used on such a Premium product seems a bit crass. It does nothing to make me feel confident that this replacement doesnt have any other issues that I do not know about yet. Would anyone feel confident with a Mercedes that had a HONDA hood ornament sent to them from the factory? So now I have to uninstall the card , remove the plate to see the Serial number of the card to confirm that they screwed up putting my replacement together? FULL DISCLOSURE I was already kind of pissed when they made me use twice as much on my card as collateral as i could BUY a 780 Classy for now but I did it anyway... and now this. I was feeling a LITTLE better about that until this Mind game

Hello NickNasc, I do apologize for any inconveniences or confusion. To further assist you would you please email your RMA number to Support@evga.com along with several pictures of the video card front and back, a close up of the serial number sticker, and also a close up of the serial number sticker that is located on the back of the brown product box that the card was packaged in. Once we receive the images we can then forward this to our RMD department manager for further review and clarification. Regards,

I've seen many times in the forum where a card is an SC in a vanilla wrapper which is always a bonus ( I have a GTX260 SC Core216 with a box , serial number and sticker of a 198 core stock card ) This is the first time I have never seen it go the other way ... bummer

No it is on Three parts of the card... Three different times .. both sides and the top. I was referring to Zuhl, who posted the same thung 3 times. Not referring to your post. I left your quote in there simply because he was responding to you, and his response was posted 3 separate times. If the serial number sticker is for a 780ti classified, then someone may have tried to pull some wool over the eyes of the tech department so they could keep a higher rated card. Please follow what JamesL has requested of you. Do not publicly post your serial number on the forum. Make sure it goes directly to EVGA. Hillguy I've seen many times in the forum where a card is an SC in a vanilla wrapper which is always a bonus ( I have a GTX260 SC Core216 with a box , serial number and sticker of a 198 core stock card ) This is the first time I have never seen it go the other way , hot rod stickers on a plain card ... bummer
It'It's not a plain card. Both are classifieds. The only difference is the cuda core count and clock speed. Aside from that, the cards are 100% identical and indistinguishable when referring to the outside. Reference cards are only bios changes. Also completely undistinguishable from the outside.

I have had that happen before, even when the physx drivers were installed and working.. not sure why it does that.
