Hello. Two months ago I posted this on another forum but we were unable to figure it out. I will repost from there. "So I just got my second EVGA GTX 770 (Superclocked ACX cooling), checked my power supply (850 watts), and updated all my drivers but Nvidia is not showing the SLI configuration tab in Nvidia Control Panel. However in the Nvidia Control Panel, in Device Manager, and in Geforce Experience they all say 2 GTX 770s. I have my SLI Bridge of course and have checked my BIOS for a way to activate SLI but have found none. I'm not sure what to do at this point." Added rig to signature. Here is the thread on Tek Syndicate's forums. (It was removed. Can we not post links?) "Both GPUs are in the PCI x16 slots. I've done a clean wipe of the drivers. The SLI Bridge is in the left most slot (pictured in reply) and fresh out of the bag. I've wiped and reinstalled drivers using Guru3D's DDU. The second card is used that I bought from a Redditor. I just put the new GPU in the lower PCI slot alone my screen didn't power up but it's fans did. The older GPU when in the lower slot did work though. So I switched them from their original positions so the newer one was in the top and the older in the bottom. Then somehow with the DVI cable in the newer GPU the screen went on. So I logged on and now I'm using the newer GPU that I just bought but my initial issue is still present. The SLI tab is not showing up in the Nvidia Control Panel."

You have your GPU's in both of the red PCIe slots, correct? Did you disable the integrated GPU in the BIOS? It might be called iGPU or on-board graphics, etc, in the BIOS, not sure on what ASUS's terminology might be. Some boards don't need that disabled, some do. If you haven't tried disabling it yet, give that a try. Have you tried moving the SLI bridge to the other set of fingers on the GPU's? Also try a different SLI bridge if available.

You might need to enable Gen 3 or PCI-E 3.0 in your Hero VI bios. Some other thoughts come to mind: 1. Is the second card using a modded or different bios? 2. Just checking, both cards have the same amount of memory, 3GB? 3. Did you try swapping out SLI bridges? 4. Are both cards showing up in your mobo bios? 5. Move the SLI bridge to the other (inner) post on the right.

Verify both of your cards are running at least x8 speeds. Download GPU-Z and run the render test on each GPU, the render test can be brought up be selecting the question mark circled in green. The red indicates if your card is running at x16, x8 or x4. The orange allows you to switch between the two GPU's. Latest version of GPU-Z can be downloaded here: http://www.techpowerup.co.downloads/SysInfo/GPU-Z/ Both cards should read as PCI-E 2.0x16 @x8 2.0 at the very least while running the render test. For the SLI option to appear in the nvidia control panel both cards must be able to run at least x8 speeds when under load, if one card runs at x4 while running the render test and the other runs at x8 that is what is causing your SLI option not to appear inside the nvidia control panel.

I found something interesting. They are both at x16 speeds but the BIOS Versions are different as well as GDDR5 types and sizes are different. Both these cards only have 2Gb of GDDR5 in each of them. www.imgur.com/a/JMxzx#0

Could you clarify? Are you saying both GPU's do not show the same amount of memory of 2048 MB?

Yes. It's in the link. (It's hard to see because I used a workaround since I'm a new member)

One is 4 GB and the other is 2 GB and is why SLI won't enable.

This would explain a lot. I'll have to check with my seller because he thought they were identical.

I would love to! I can't send PMs yet but let me check with my reddit seller to see exactly what he sent me. Can you confirm that this newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130921 is what you have? Do you have a time limit for this exchange (waiting on reddit seller)? I wouldn't want to keep your bro waiting.

I guess I didn't check back quick enough. There used to be a hack running around where sometimes you could get GPU's with different memory sizes to work, but it's hit or miss and the stability isn't guaranteed. Not to step on anyone's toes, but the way games are going, if at all possible, 2 4GB cards would be better.

Not really. Some newer games require a min of 3GB on board just to use the higher settings. He's just another guy with an opinion doing videos on Youtube. I have several newer games that use well over 2GB at 1080p never mind DSR at 4K or using SGSSAA or other forms of AA.

Not really. Some newer games require a min of 3GB on board just to use the higher settings. He's just another guy with an opinion doing videos on Youtube. I have several newer games that use well over 2GB at 1080p never mind DSR at 4K or using SGSSAA or other forms of AA.
That's what he said.

Seriously, I wouldn't make an even trade for a 2 GB video board in exchange for your 4 GB model. Try and hold out for a 4 GB board if one becomes available or get some money in exchange for the downgrade.

Ya I'm looking for a 4GB version. Thanks for the offer though.

HeavyHemi I guess I didn't check back quick enough. There used to be a hack running around where sometimes you could get GPU's with different memory sizes to work, but it's hit or miss and the stability isn't guaranteed. Not to step on anyone's toes, but the way games are going, if at all possible, 2 4GB cards would be better.
Ya I did some quick reserch but Linus somes it up pretty well: youtube.com/watch?v=Utv144XeHag

Ha...you're right. I was thinking of one of his older videos. My bad.
