So much speculation flying around... Either way it will still fit in my case with the heat pipes...But I hope it doesn't look like that... Interesting though did a google for GTX 480 pic and found one on the inquirer that looks just like this pic.. with the heat pipes sticking out. I hope this 480 card is faster then my 5870 because If its not I don't see how that would be good for the industry... Of cousre I am not saying the inquirer is credible but just comparing pictures.. http://www.theinquirer.ne...en-topless-gtx480-pics

The heatpipse look correct, cause we saw the inards on another thread, and in the bottom left corner of the cooling solution you can see some of the same "holes/slots" in the case. http://forums.evga.com/tm.aspx?m=210111

looks like there is a hiden heat pipe as well, four stick out but you can see five pipe lanes on the heatsink, one may wrap around inside the case.

I think the cooler is pretty sweet actually, kinda reminds me of this: Young bucks who only know the Bay films may not know who that is....but needless to say he and Dirk Diggler have a more than a few things in common! "You've got the touch......." But seriously, glad they kept the slot cooler + centrifugal fan design and didn't go with one of the open designs that recirculate hot air into the case.

kscott190 Only 3-way? You would think by now Nvidia would catch on and go 4-way like ATI does with it's cards I doubt the market is big enough for two players in that niche. Having said that, EVGA's required investment minimum will be much lower than nVidia, hence how they can afford to produce and sell their Classified 4-way SLi graphics cards, which is the only way you'll see the type. kscott190 I think most of the ppl buying this would having no problem buying a second 1200w PSU You're absolutely correct, but how many of them are there at any one time? As a business, you don't just counter everything your competitor does, you must first decide which competiting aspect to counter, to get the highest ROI (return on investment). nVidia may have already decided against 4-way individual card SLi a long time ago. kscott190 Just look at the money you have to spend on the CPUs Dude, there is no "have to" in this market, only "want/desire" which by nature makes it small. The more you spend, the smaller club you're a part of.

why does Nvidia claims, according to the graphic, "Fastest GPU in the world", when we know for sure that this joint will NEVER beat that 5970, which is in reality, the fastest gpu card man ever made. Unless, that graph is not officially from Nvidia but photoshop by some fool. to Raku: it would be nice if you can edit and list the same spec of its predecessor gtx 280 or gtx 285 like you have listed gtx 480 spec, so for the noobs can compare what have Nvidia gone from GT200 to Fermi.

BlindArchangel Just found this on the GameTrailers forum and thought I'd share it GTX 470-$350 GTX 480-$499 Source at least now we know the previous prices were fake, $350 and $500 is more reasonable. This probably means a GTX 460 will be in the $200 - $250 range, and the upcoming dual 400 series card they were talking about (2 x GTX 470 I would assume) will be in the $600 - $650 range.

Wow the power draw is the same as a 5970. Now either something is wrong there or Nvidia rushed Fermi in order to get it out soon. Why did they not use 40nm in making this as compared to ATi?
