I stalled out on this game about a year ago after playing 125 hours. It's been long enough that I'm pondering another play through. Not sure if I want to wait to do it till the VR version or sooner.

I was kind of wondering with them going back do it in VR if they would fix the issues with ultrawide screen support and patch the original. It would be nice if they did since it would seem the VR view would have the same problems as ultrawide monitors.

I just played for a little bit and it is broken for sure. I got objects that jitter, ash heaps from laser kills floating in midair from the 7th or 8th floor of a building, and of course the new blind bad guys who run down the steps and right through you and knock Kate to the ground.

I haven't seen any of that, but I've been mostly keeping to my base on Spectacle Island.

You can delete the Crappy Club garbage from your data folder (681mb), but it won't fix the other things that Bugthesda did to the game.  The problem is, we don't know what the next update will do.  Will it update and upload all the crap (and more) again?

Not yet.  Remember this is Bethesda.  Nothing beyond a resolution of 2560x1600 exists.  We should just be grateful that they deigned to even add anything past 1080.    Flawless Widescreen mostly fixed UW for Fallout 4.  I know there's at least one guy on our mod team that runs ultrawide and I can ask him how well UW works now.

You could always start a new game prior to the VR version and then start another after the release.

It all depends on which mod you want to use.  Current tower is 18 stories.  But I can go higher.

Is Fallout 4 building still as clunky as it was originally? I used to rage over how snap to and clipping would mess with every attempt at making something functional.

It has it moments.  But mods like Place Anywhere make things easier.

Well you could always unlock them since they are on your hard drive. Then none are forcing you to use them. But I do agree them forcing paid mods after the community had their say is in poor taste, but then again it is their game after all. The only part I have an issue with is they forced us to download all the creation club mods two gigs without asking. But since they are on my hard drive they are mine now.

Wait so BethSoft is now forcing paid crap into the game and it's just as broken as ever still? Good thing I uninstalled the game soon as I got done rebuilding the pc. I really do hope Obsidian somehow takes over all the licensing and franchise rights to Fallout. Not only would they be able to put out better content but hopefully keep bringing in the classic lore like they did with New Vegas.

As much as that would be awesome, but Bethesda owns the rights to the gamebryo engine custom configured in house that is used that make the game so modible, then obsidian does not have the money to drop almost half a million on a license. Then all the assets, and everything Fallout now all Belong to Bethesda. Look at all the merchandise Bethesda has for Fallout 4 on their store now. They fought in court, won the rights and will not give them up.

The worst parts of the engine is this there is the console configuration and why low spec to mid spec players say it runs great. Then the PC master race settings. All of these are configured when you first install the game with the autodetect hardware. 99.99% of those settings are not found in the options menu. Then if you have AMD good luck with gameworks unless you fall under console level hardware then its configured so it wont be a mess for you.

The game's environment is beautiful but lots of missed opportunities, quest, encounters, and stuff that got pulled. A lot of that you can thank nvidia for along with Bethesda's greed to take Nvidias money and put i n the monstrosity called gameworks into the pipeline that took up important time.  Not to mention all the stuff we could have had like in New Vegas thus the game felt very dry, from the story ending types, to events, to missing items and creatures. Then the annoying another settlement needs your help time sink. I will say the story and much of the time sinks suck. They need to look at CDProjekt red that handed it to them every way since Sunday in terms of quest and side quest being both epic and important.

None are taking a gun to you as the end user and saying you have to buy this stuff. What they did force you to do is download over 2gb of creation club assets at the start of it. Its really up to you to unlock them or pay for them if you really feel the need of you must have them. But the nexus and other sites have better mods up already from the doom armor, to the BFG, Weapons, environment stuff like settlement stuff.

I have figured out the game fully since its launch, even on a high end gaming system to a gimped high end with AMD Vs Gameworks, there are settings in the INI that they don't give you access to in the settings launcher like I already said. I have zero issues with the game these days. But then again the game is not as flush in terms of quest/items/monsters/encounters/side quest as New Vegas. To even get it semi to that level you need mods. Then there is still the main quest/side quest short comings. Paid mods are here to stay there is big money to be made, they will make more on those than they did on selling the game.

Well I started over. Level 70 was where I was at. Too many issues.

Anyone remember at the bridge at Sanctuary there was a raider and a dog with a tire iron stuck in it. There was always re-occurring loot displayed on the corpses after a certain amount of time passage. Not this time. Anyone else run into this?

It probably means they fixed it from respawning loot.

The re-spawning of loot at the Sanctuary bridge is back. I'm not complaining mind you but now I don't have to wait as long as I did to see if it would return.

Anyone else having problems or remember problems with aiming through scopes? When not looking through a scope and scanning the terrain (or tracking the enemy) the mouse control movement is what I call normal. Left to right, right to left is very fast. When tracking an enemy through the scope left to right or right to left moves very slow while the actual mouse movement is extreme.

I've done some reading on what they refer to as mouse lag but I get the impression that this is in general across the board. I only notice it when looking through a scope. Any ideas?

I use a controller, but I don't remember anything like that.  Also, I don't use vanilla weapons.    So is this something that affects all scopes or just vanilla?

Im still playing FO4.  Sort of.   Been working with a mod team, so I keep the game active on two platforms so I can go bug hunting if need be.

For those that are still playing and are into settlement building. If you are having space issues when constructing wells and are tired of those units getting destroyed, I have a tip for you.

Erect a tower style building in your settlement and make it as high as you can. Place your items like stores and workshops in the tower. This also includes all of your garden plots. Construct a few extra garden plots in there and build any well (that has to be placed in dirt) and place it on the garden plot. Wall it in and your done.

I was laying the plots out and planting when I saw the "plant in dirt" and that's when it hit me that some wells also need to be "planted" in dirt. I tried it and it worked.

Hope it helps.

How high can you build on Spectacle Island?

It all depends on which mod you want to use.  Current tower is 18 stories.  But I can go higher.

I have one that is close to 70 stories high, it's not at all complete, but I just eventually started adding the posts one on top of the other to see how far I could go. No limit yet. I think the mod was called build it higher.

I also have a massive and I do mean massive ammo manufacturing complex that I never fully completed because I started to have resource issues on my machine when all the machines would start pumping out ammo. Macros genuinely helped with that build cause putting materials in all those machines by hand is back or should I say hand breaking. Its also a bit buggy when a machine is running but it is outside of render distance.

What mod are you using to get the glass look? Also, is it compatible with other settlement expansion mods? What type of material is required to build that?

I'm looking into the ammo MFG complex myself. Just going to make a small setup.......... for now.

Do you know if you can make energy weapon rounds?
