The road to freedom was pretty cool. I wish they had more of those type of quests that involve a little more brain work.

I'm going to start moving my companions to The Castle so I can blow up the BOS airship. That should put a smile on my face anyway.

Zuhl3156 I set up a lot of those sensors for Tinker Tom. Those quests suddenly just stopped but he has more of them in his inventory. He must be giving me some time off for R&R.

Yeah, they're named MILA and used to monitor changes to the environment. Tinker Tom is convinced that The Institute is manipulating the environment and atmospheric conditions for some reason. MILA units need to be placed on top of a building or other high areas.

I tried using the laser sensors to open a door, and to set the timing by 3 seconds so the door would close without closing right after I hit the sensor. The problem though is the sensor does not reset itself. How do I do that to make it so it resets?

Is this something in the new workshop? I haven't seen or tried it yet.

go to your power items, under switches, you will see the laser switch towards the end of the selections. There are 2 of them available, 1 shorter sensor, and then a longer one, which covers any door way. They will have 2 endings, and then will show an orange/pink laser going to both ends. Those are the sensors. if you're able to figure out how to make the sensor reset once you pass through it to open the door, please let me know. I should be a little more specific. There is a little button that you can physically press to reset the sensor. Anyone can figure that out, but I'm talking about having the switch automatically reset by another switch. That's what I want.

I would run it through an on/off switch between the sensor and the generator. Cycling the power off and then back on should reset it. I'll give it a try later today. I didn't know anything about it until you mentioned it here.

I'll give that a try and see too, as I already have something similar set up anyway.

I took the on/off switch as a way to make a device to sporadically turn on & off. So, that's why I didn't try it. description obviously was very confusing.

Zuhl, I did what you suggested, but the on/off interval switch only makes the devices go on and off. So, nothing yet on it.

I'm not quite sure if you have witnessed 3 shotgun turrets and 4 missile turrets going off at once to kill the enemy at your base, with the settlers carrying shotguns, machine guns, rifles, and the like... It is quite the site to see.

I put a couple shotgun turrets inside my base, guarding the entrance. Sometimes a couple stragglers will actually get inside and do some damage, if you don't pay attention.

I have some Laser turrets but I don't like needing a generator for them. It's too easy for the Raiders to shoot up the generator and leave the turrets useless. Most of my settlements have a Defense rating of over 100.

That part I didn't know. Looks like I will be getting the fusion generator, and setting up a barrier around it. I know that the generator lowers the happiness.

I started a new character, and this one is set on Survival. I have to say, it's pretty hard with the fact that fast travel has been completely illuminated. Water dehydration is real, and so is hunger. It looks like I will have to set up multiple water stations at each settlement.

I installed the Alien Sniper Rifle mod but it didn't drop because the Alien was already killed a long time ago. There is still a chance that it will drop by killing a Legendary enemy. Time will tell.

I started a new character. I made the ugliest woman possible and she is all strength and endurance, dumb as a rock on "very hard" and I am intent on being rude to everyone but so far, even when I steal and I am crappy, the convo always ends up going forward. It seems that your actions affected more of the story in FO:NV and FO3. It's too bad I couldn't go up real nice to a raider and join their gang just because. Oh well, I am going to find someone friendly to punch.

Well, you could be a jerk on FO4, and just shoot the innocent ones, and start a scene. Who knows what will happen if you just go to diamond city, and just shoot on sight. Secondly, why only very hard? I know you beat this game. Be a man... start the Survival challenge.

Just go to Diamond City, aim your weapon at someone and try to 'Pacify' them and all hell will break loose. I have been wondering what would happen if I got up top and rained down Mini Nukes on Diamond City and killed everyone. Could I make it into a Minuteman settlement?

My first time around, I went to diamond city and I did a save and then scanned around and the mayor was way up high in his office I guess. I sniped him and he ended up getting up again. No one batted an eye. He must be a real jerk.

He can't be killed yet. You have to wait for the mission to confront the Mayor. I just wasted him, looted his corpse and his safe. I killed his Secretary and one Diamond City Security Guard too and quick travelled out of there. It might get a little intereresting when I return.

I increased the missile turrets in one of my settlements as well as a couple of heavy lasers. After that I was on a mission when that settlement came under attack so I had to go help them. I fast traveled to there and was treated to a war that I didn't want to get into and stepped from where the missiles and lasers were targeting. 10 seconds later it was all done. It was then time to collect the goodies. It maxed me and my companion, Cait. Cap heaven. LOL

Try it, you'll love it. Awesome fire power. You can always place a wall around the generator and you can also erect a tower and place it there. I do believe that there is a limit to the ammo that the gun turrets contain.
