Now I am very interested to know what is the layout for FTW3-non ultras. I hope the case with FTW3-Gaming is not that it's a "flagship" card with a premium price, but with limited clockability because of a type of a capacitors they decided to use. For what I understand MLCC-capacitors would be able to filter different frequencies (like 10nF, 30nF, 100nF, 330nF etc) where POSCAP-capacitors has only one filtering frequency? Obviously they have other pros and cons aswell, but as explained on the video above, this could be the case. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Jacob from evga said Ultras and none Ultra are not bind but pre tested which leads to say that if a ultra does not pass the test it is sold as a normal FTW3. Would guess that means they are the same boards.

Saw the news on this for the 3080s on JayzTwoCents. Looks like the reference uses one MLCC, so you need at least that. ASUS went all out and did all 6 that way on their TUF and STRIX cards. Interested to see what the different FTWs end up being.

In Steve's video the FTW3 they used LN2 on to break a record clearly had the cheap 6 POSCAP array. Hope that was pre-production not representative of the final product, since that would make the SC2 the more well built of the two!

Well if this is true, then it shouldn't have the same issues. Good.. It seems the 2 MLCC configuration hasn't been a problem with the FE, so it shouldn't have the issue. Maybe even the 1 MLCC on the SC2 will work fine. I guess we will find out in a month or so when a lot more people have cards in their hands.

Probably true.
The 3090 pics on the website still show 6x poly too, but people here already confirmed it's 2+4, probably the same for the 3080.

Yep.. from the pics I've seen the EVGA will have 4-2.. I think even the SC2 with 5-1 will be fine. Glad I didn't decide to go Gigabyte or Zotac! Seems like Asus was on the ball too.

Well this is disappointing. I suspect its good I have not received my new 2080 yet and been able to get in line and setup for the stepup. Because if i want to be guaranteed a 30 series I may just need to go all out and step up to a 3090 if its more stable then the FTW3 3080. Problem is thats 1k more..

Yeah, in XOC conditions. Not even close to the same thing as in a case with much higher temperatures.

Does your average pc-gamer use LN2 to cool their GPU? What if with 6xMLCC they would have gotten 500 more points compared to 6xPOSCAP.

My 3090 FTW3 Ultra is for sure 4 Poscap and 2 MLCC, from what I am hearing it is the 6 x Poscap cards that have the most problems, nVIDIA FE went above spec and had 4 Poscap and 2 MLCC like the 3090 FTW3 Ultra

It's weird since Asus flagships are offering highest clockspeeds (1935MHz) out of the box with 6xMLCC whereas FTW3 only offers you 2/4 with 1800MHz and has a higher price tag. I would expect "AIB-flagships" to be more capable than FE.

seems like evga changed the ftw3 after the product photos were taken, or they were taken with a prototype. all the retail ftw3 cards seem to have 2x of the "good" caps
