Nice Duallie there man :) I remember a friend of mine having one of these with Dual Intel Xeon X5690's with four Gainward GeForce GTX 580 Golden Sample 3GB's in 4-Way SLI and 96GB DDR3-1333 ECC Reg. Crazy stuff that was, I think he is still using it. Not really retro though, I bet such a system like you built here can still come along quite well even with today's games or workstation apps. Even Dual TITAN Xp's or GTX 1080 Ti's can do great in there. You could make an EVGA MODS RIGS page and then make a post here so I can add you to the EVGA MR list :) https://forums.evga.com/M...77006-p30.aspx#1588237

SR-2's are awesome looking. I was wondering why you needed a 1700w power supply till I read the part about 6 GTX 580's, lol. Keep up the nice work.

Glad you got it fired up. I'm liking that little lcd, I might have to try that one day. Forgot to mention you really put those tubing benders to good use; the plumbing is looking nice, neet and symmetrical.

First timer bending copper tubes :-) A little 7" lcd is cool. If i use my 2x30" monitors for my Daw ,and same time SR2 is rendering 3d i can look at the little 7" monitor without using a switch or lan.

Excellent, only I would like to see your build in Lian Li A75 or PC-V3000 instead Fractal. SR-2 deserve only Lian Li or Caselabs. EVGA SR-2 with Dual Intel Xeon X5690 is nice hardware and today. But Instead more GPU I would use slots for PCI-E M.2 Adapter. SR-2 is great because have SATA III and USB 3.0 and that's very important for people who want to use SATA III SSD 1-2TB size and not only bunch of HDDs. So beautiful motherboard from period when RGB was not most important feature. People who like older hardware could get significant power from SR-2 Dual X5690 and Dual TITAN Black GK110. Newest hardware it's not most important thing.

Actually an SR-2 would look awesome in a Corsair 1000D chassis.

FYI Windows 10 worked real well for me on an SR-2 with X5680's . I had the plagued issue with one memory channel missing with windows 7 ultimate. When I switched to Windows 10 the memory showed all memory channels and board also ran a lot more stable.

Interesting looking SR-2 Mobo. What happened to the other 2 channels for the left CPU?

This is nicest type of watercooling EVGA SR-2 - Koolance huge waterblock. I imagine how much is total weight of Mobo with processors, waterblock and memories... I'm not sure but maybe for two best Xeons for SR-2 and a lot of DDR3 memory I would replace mine X99 platform. But only with this Koolance waterblock.
