johcamp21 roping you guys into clearing out last years inventory before the the shiny new (retreads?) stuff comes out. Nah its a good chip though and would last most folks a good while fro a great price.
That's just it. Better to pay $200-$250 than to pay 3x more for 5-10% more performance. Get a 9th or 10th gen i7 and sit pretty until the next real generational jump arrives and/or we move on to DDR5 and need to buy new motherboards anyway.

I’ve accepted the only way I have any chance of getting a card is through the Newegg shuffle

I have always had this philosophy with CPU's. And these days having the newest CPU is an even bigger waste of money because they are much less of a potential bottleneck than they used to be. Consider yourself lucky if you never got to "experience" 20th Century computer tech. Anyway, I'm running a Ryzen 3800X and won't need to upgrade from that chip until I'm ready for a new MB. We're talking another 4 years. As soon as I get my 3080 hybrid or 3080TI, whichever comes first, I will want for nothing. I won't need to think about upgrading my rig again until 2025.

by the time you get a 3080ti or a hybrid it will be 2025..lol but seriously tech is moving way to fast.unless you like downgrading to about 45-60fps thats where your rig will be by 2025 and so will mine.i give it 2 years tops.

My 8700K @4.8GHz + Z370 mobo are running wild since 2017, not gonna touch them unless I see a new CPU at least eating that setup by 60% performance leap xD

If you want the card, keep looking at other options to obtain one while standing in line here. Also, sign up for all the cards you would want to use. Don't just settle for one. Some cards move more than the others. You can sign up for as many as want. You can only get one of each sku though. Good luck.

coldrain85 I can't wait for my 3898. I'm only 210 seconds away from glory after waiting for almost 6 months. Yes, I know that the 3898 didn't launch 6 months ago, but I was in the 3897 queue first before I gave up my launch day time stamp and went for the hybrid instead. So, don't hate on me when I get my 3898 before you get your 3897. I have already been waiting longer than pretty much everyone.
Fair enough, but your timestamp is 3 months after mine, so it will still sting if you or anyone else got the card in that time period. You've been waiting 3 months for your hybrid card, I've been waiting almost 6 months for the 3897.

If you're offering to scope out a MC and mail a card, I'll gladly pay price of GPU plus a good amount on top for your time in doing so for any 3080 or 3090.

I was thinking: not saying it will happen but can you imagine how wrong it would be if we start seeing some serious increase in queue movement shortly after April 16th? EVGA would lose my business forever if that happens that's for sure. Again not saying it will happen, but it's just in the back of my mind constantly considering the age we live in and how greedy and wrong most of the companies are nowadays, trying to milk their customers down to the last pennies as much as possible...

I was lucky enough to get in queue for 12G-P5-3657-KR early, and just received yesterday. I'm planning a monitor upgrade (LG 38GN950-B) this year, so more gpu will probably be required to drive the extra screen @ higher refresh rates. I'm trying to decide which sku to enter in "step-up" program, 3667 or 3897. The 3080 would probably be the a better choice long-term, but if the wait is much longer vs. 3060ti I'd rather have some upgrade sooner & try to source 3080 at BB/Newegg, etc. Of course, the 3090 is tempting, but waaay out of my budget ;) Any thoughts on which sku is likely to be available 1st though step-up?

Even if we think cynically, this doesn't make a lot of sense for EVGA. Every card they don't sell today is potentially a card sold to a competitor. If I'm in the queue for five months and finally find an Asus card or get picked in Newegg Shuffle or give up and buy a used 2070 Super on eBay, I'm not going to buy the card in April that you could have sold me today. If they had backlogged capacity/stock, they'd be selling it now rather than sitting on it. cobengo2 Any thoughts on which sku is likely to be available 1st though step-up?
I'd guess that you'll get into a 3060ti long before you get into a 3080 via the Step-Up if the queue movement is any indication.

Super true, most people are just going to buy the first card they can get their hands on - no matter who it's from. I hadn't thought of that before but that's a strong point.

Missed shuffle yesterday. Mostly waiting on a card here. Spent 30 minutes last week when Best Buy had its drop. Missed out on that. B&H Photo sent me we regret to inform you we don't have you item. All in all a boring 5 or 6 days. My math for drops comes to this. Feb 26 ended lunar new year a ship gets loaded and sails feb 27,28 maybe march 1. 14 to 17 days it is in cali. So March 16-18 there is a good chance at a decent drop. Next week there is a good chance at a decent drop. But what is a decent drop? on the Kingpin I am number 82 on that list. March 10 was 8 spots. November 25 was 17 spots December 15 was 80 spots December 16 was 6 spots December 17 was 47 spots January 17 was 36 spots February 10 was 23 spots March 9 was 18 spots So I could see the kingpin doing a lot of spots. Soon

I'm in the queue, but I didn't know the queue thing was an option for a long time, so only got added relatively recently and not hopeful to receive it in any sort of real timeframe. My question is this - are there any other places (other than EVGA and ebay) that sell the EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 FTW3 ULTRA HYBRID GAMING, 10G-P5-3898-KR? With the 1080 hybrid, Amazon also sold it, but I can't find a listing for 3898 anywhere, sold out or otherwise.

subdude I removed the chat person's last name just in case, and I don’t know what physically traveling to the nearest BB and speaking to someone in person would do anyhow *shrugs*. Oh well, wished I knew someone near a MC, but I don’t I’m way off the queue subject anyhow lol

Visitor (21:58:36 GMT) : why yes, yes you can ;) Linus xxxxxxx (21:58:50 GMT) : Thank you. Visitor (21:59:08 GMT) : no no, thank YOU *points in Linus' general direction* Linus xxxxxxxx (21:59:33 GMT) : Thank you for staying connected. Visitor (22:00:37 GMT) : omg Linus you're killing me w/suspense lol Linus xxxxxxx (22:01:12 GMT) : I am sorry to inform you that the product in the competitors link, the price of the product is only for instore purchase, so we will not be able to honor the price match online, I would request you to visit the near by Best buy store, our team will check and help you regarding the price match.
I'll send you a PM. I live about 2 hours from one. I usually go in every other weekend, but I hurt my foot running yesterday, so I don't know how I'll feel about a 2 hr drive. Hopefully it's better by then! Really hurting me right now. 🙁
If you're offering to scope out a MC and mail a card, I'll gladly pay price of GPU plus a good amount on top for your time in doing so for any 3080 or 3090.
Appreciate the offer, but I have already camped over night (as in starting around 7pm the night before) six or seven times in front of that microcenter trying to get a 3080, and I still have no 3080. I've given up on that, but they usually have good stock of Intel CPUs. I was just planning to see if I could pick one up for him on a regular trip to MC. I'm not planning on camping out anymore, even though I want a 3080 myself. 🙁 I did get my 3060 yesterday from EVGA, and it is a beautiful card. It's small, too, so it can be used in a lot of smaller cases with ease. Doesn't need a monster power supply either. Very efficient!

Urobulus I was thinking: not saying it will happen but can you imagine how wrong it would be if we start seeing some serious increase in queue movement shortly after April 16th? EVGA would lose my business forever if that happens that's for sure. Again not saying it will happen, but it's just in the back of my mind constantly considering the age we live in and how greedy and wrong most of the companies are nowadays, trying to milk their customers down to the last pennies as much as possible...
That is next level evil, for a company to willing grandfather in queue prices, only to give the illusion of caring about the customer. It is not impossible, but I refuse to believe EVGA would implement a queue system, grandfather prices, and only hike their prices $70 per card in one big elaborate scheme to garner gamers' favor. If this was the case, I would have to put them well past the other AIBs, who consistently, blatantly, and unapologetically bend the consumer over to profit at all costs.

The overall lack of availability everywhere except secondary markets leads me to believe they are not holding anything back. I think that nefarious motives like that are a stretch. The bottom line is EVGA is still doing more than anyone else to give average consumers a fair shot as much as they are able. Cards are still coming out to people in the queue other aibs immediately raised prices immediately and EVGA could have done the same but chose not to. Even with the price increases coming they're not making any more money off the cards, they had to increase because their cost to produce increased.

Yeah, I'm thinking they are going to pop us for the uptick in price. I've been in the queue since 9/23 and looks like I'll have to pay whatever the current price is.

Question about the queue here. I missed the drop on one of my cards Friday because I wasn't expecting it. Based on the linked document, the queue for that card was still very early on 11/6 where as my notify was created 11/7. As if yesterday the document still shows queue times as being 11/6 for the 3070 XC3 so I was very surprised (and frankly, angry) to see that my notify had apparently come and went on Friday while I had a very busy day if work at school before leaving for spring break. Completely missed my 8hr window. I do have a 2nd notify for the FTW3 but I was really hoping to get both to update my son's PC as well.
Is it typical to see the document be several days out of sync like that?

Warfield2Completely missed my 8hr window. Send message to support. I read stories when they resend new notification email in response when people missed their purchase window. And don't forget to use associate code
