Man I swear, based on what I've seen this week it seems as if it is actually getting even harder to find a card now and that queue is barely moving. Anyway... is it silly to go seriously consider randomly walking into a Best Buy with hopes of finding one? Have any of you actually done that or know anyone who has? I know some folks have had luck with Microcenter, but the nearest store for me is a 6 hour drive so that's not going to happen lol.

Also another thing that really doesn't help the market right now is those waste-of-skin scalpers that are buying most of the stock and reselling for a ridiculously inflated price. And morons buying that too. Unfortunately it will be common from now on for the next gen of cards to come, and the one after, and probably many more generations too. Consoles too, same thing. Scalpers from now on will pretty much control the market since 1- they found that they can get away with it 2- you have morons with too much money buying from them 3- retailers aren't doing a damn against them because they get the money anyway from the sales. So yeah don't get any delusions that it will stop after a couple of months, it won't, and this is the new norm now you'll see since nobody is doing a damn about them...

I have walked into a BestBuy and asked a few times. No confirmation from the employees, but I think I saw somewhere on their website that the 30 series cards are online only. That's how they're doing consoles too I think.

Not true here, employees would get fired right away.

So the consensus seems to be that I won't be getting a 3080 from EVGA at all? That I've wasted my time because I picked a FTW3 Gaming model to queue for instead of an Ultra model? Well... that's depressing. I wish an EVGA rep would step in here and give us some info about what to realistically expect.

Initially picked all 3 of the XC3 3080's, barely any movement at all in over 4 months. Right there with you, feeling no love from eVGA myself.

A friend of mine managed to get his hands on an Asus Strix 3080 and offered it up to me to buy at cost. Initially I turned him down on it, but I'm reaching out to him to see if he still has it. I've only had EVGA video cards in my machines going back about 10 years or so, but I've been in the queue for 129 days now... that seems ridiculous.

I am positive eVGA want's to make money, which is why they will wait till after April 16th, when the grandfathered price expires to sell us the XC3 3080's But then again, after 2020, I am a massive cynic when it comes to people and organizations.

Because people are impatient or don't fully understand the current market environment as a whole. I love seeing the posts talking about Nvidia or EVGA doing this on purposes and holding back stock or trying to screw their customers over. First and foremost they are a business, and the sole goal of a business is to earn a profit. Trust me if they magically happened to find 100,000 gpu's you better believe they would ship those out ASAP. In what business does it make sense to hold back stock, hurting your bottom line and more importantly your investors just to create false scarcity? If it was any other time sure the whole situation would be weird but it's literally the perfect storm. You have yield shortages, shipping constraints, all time high consumer demand, crypto through the roof, scalpers, and Nvidia's hype trains and all the BS that comes along with it. It sucks but it's the situation we're in and no amount of complaining changes that. To the people who are unhappy with the queue system keep in mind EVGA has retail partners they have contracts with who they also have to provide cards to or risk losing them as a store front. They were under no obligation to set up the queue but they did, it's better than nothing and they're doing the best they can with what they have.

If I could join in, I'd like to ask at what point does a person become a scalper? 1. If you can get more than one card? Let's say you need one for yourself and one for family/friend. 2. If you buy a card and use it for a few days and then sell it for what you paid? 3. If you get more than one card and just put them up for sale to the highest bidder without even opening the box? 4. You get and order place and take a screen cap of the order and immediately put the picture up as proof that u have a card coming and ask for nearly twice the price? I have a couple more questions but would like to see where you guys land on these first. thanks

Once again eth is paying 7.7 cents an mh so 3060ti is 60 x 7.7 = 4.62 a day and if you have 40 cent a kwatt power cost it will cost you 1.60 in power net profit is 3 usd a day and the 3080 is 95 x 7.7 = 7.31 a day and if you have 40 cent a kwatt power cost it will cost you 2.40 in power net profit is 4.91 usd a day As long as mining profits are this high the demand on the 3060ti and the 3080 will not cease. Worse yet evga cards mine well with little problems as they are better designed than many other card. EVGA cards do not suffer from heat sag in hash rate like other cards do. Thus higher demand. Until mining crashes the demand on these cards will be high. Worse yet phones samsung apple and Motorola all short chips. Huawei short chips Tv's short chips. appliances short chips game stations short chips AMD cpus and gpu's short chips. h2ocaver If I could join in, I'd like to ask at what point does a person become a scalper? I have a couple more questions but would like to see where you guys land on these first. thanks
Just my opinion, to be a scalper of GPUs: 1) Use means of obtaining GPUs that are not available to the average person (ie not someone dedicated to geting a GPU, has a real job, using bots, etc) 2) Buys as many GPUs as possible, with the sole purpose of turning them around with a greater than 10% markup. Really boils down to that for me, but it's just my opinion.
