Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't EVGA's cards coming out of Taiwan and would get around the tariff? Maybe I am being to optimistic about it.

Seems like lower tier 3080s have essentially stopped production. Not even mini drops anymore.

@ eVGA - may I please have a status update regarding the 3080 XC3 gaming line? Since launch day I think this card has moved the least. I’ve been in line since 09/16 @ 12:14pm, please be thoughtful of others any update is better than nothing at this point. I feel like a donkey chasing the carrot tied to my head.

From what I've seen, it seems like it's the most unpopular card and EVGA seems to be focusing on the more popular ones.

Cant wait for the weekend to pass to get to monday! :) 4months waiting and finally my time is coming to an end!

Big oof at them reducing the Associate's Code thing to 3% on graphics cards, that's a big change for the price of the Kingpin, but I'm locked in on getting one either way. 

Hybrid cards are likely to drop next week, including the Kingpin, and if it waits until the after the 9th I'll have almost 200 eVGA Bucks available, if it hits me after the 14th, that'd be even better.  Every little bit off the price helps ^_^  I may end up saving the eVGA Bucks though, I noticed it doesn't seem to say anywhere if they actually expire after a while or not.

Man it's starting to suck how we haven't had a drop lately for the 3987. I've got pretty much everything ready except this and the CPU upgrade. 

I'm still biding my time waiting on a possible 5900x/X570 upgrade of my system until we see more information about next generation of Threadripper.  I really want those extra PCIe lanes for expansion cards (for additional SATA & M.2 storage, among other things).  Really wish Intel & AMD hadn't simultaneously decided to rob mainstream platforms of PCIe lanes when they started to only have 20/24 etc.  I definitely don't want to go backwards to X299, so it's either gonna be stay with what I got til the next gen of Threadripper, or go with a 5900x/X570 if the next gen of Threadripper is too much money for too little performance.
Gonna be interesting to see how much this 9900K/Z390 combo fetches on resale, that's for sure... I'll be keeping everything but the board & CPU, since this RAM is pretty highly compatible & well suited for Dual or Quad Channel configurations... just gotta find an X570 motherboard that's T-Topology & not Daisy-Chain for the memory lanes.
 
I hope the Hybrids come through next week, but if the Kingpin specifically doesn't, I'm cool with that, the longer it takes the more I'll have available after the purchase of it :-P  Looking at getting a Samsung 49" Super Ultrawide G9 monitor as well - that's gonna be like being in an airplane cockpit, I'm really looking forward to it.

You know Newt. I wonder if they reduced the discount code in lieu of not increasing the costs of EVGA cards.

 
We had a bit of that conversation a few hours ago; that may be a possible outcome (and I certainly hope they don't raise prices).  I also think it may be that they are needed to squeeze a bit more margin from their store -- I doubt their modeling for the 30 series had them selling so many units through their store (vs via retailers; I acknowledge that they are still doing that too, but it may be that they are only fulfilling the minimum requirements for those contracts vs blowing them out).  Who knows?  But I do hope that they realize that some folks were counting on the 5% discount to maybe pursue a card that was slightly outside of their budget range....

The volumes of today's drops might have been larger, but they were limited to the 3080 FTW3 Ultra and the 3070 XC3 Ultra.  Hopefully next week will bring large drops to both air-cooled and waterlogged card queues...we are overdue for a torrential downpour.

All in, a pretty disappointing week for drops.  But larger events outside of our little corner of the tech world (but very much part of our larger world), reminded us that there are more important things than our small efforts at managing and mitigating the results of a failed technology launch.  The delayed realization that the Associate’s Code discount has been reduced from 5% to 3% for GPUs for 2021 was a tough hit at the end of a tough week. 
 
Hopefully next week will bring better news on all fronts.

A bunch of folks here reported back that they got a card from BB. Most didn't say anything other than, "I got a card from BB. Thanks. Bye". A small number of them were more forthcoming with information, but it sounded like most of them just happened to be looking at the time and got lucky. One cat said that they seem to release cards around 5-5:30pm PST M-F. It doesn't mean cards will always go out on those days. That's the window is all. I don't know if that's true, or not. I have also heard about them popping up in the morning around 9-10am. Maybe someone here knows better than me, but I doubt it since this forum is for those who don't have a card and want one.
