Over the last several weeks, there have been drops that occur after 2 pm PT. To paraphrase Monty Python, "[We're] not dead yet."

Dang, based on the previous posts with notification timestamps at 06:05:37, it looks like I missed the day one Launch Edition by just a few seconds. Guess there's always tomorrow. 08G-P5-3751-KL 10/29/2020 6:05:45 AM PT No

And our spirits are lifted again. Seven words and an old-school emoji. #Efficient Edit: If you are lucky enough to get your name called today, please report back to the thread with the date/time stamp of your original "auto-notify" registration. The spreadsheet is proving difficult to manage/view through the new form-based process. Thanks in advance and good luck!

mobhill I've seen some interesting reactions to this launch here, although Reddit is of course far worse. I think living in the (mostly) instant gratification world that we do has reduced our disappointment resiliency. I include myself in that statement as well. Is it disappointing that we can't get a card when we want one? Sure. But one would hope that we could react to disappointment like adults- shrug about the things you have no control over and move on with your day.
Exactly. It was obvious weeks ago how far behind Nvidia was. For some reason there was a new batch all hopped up on hopium thinking this would be different and we would get cards rained down upon us. People the sooner you realize things are not going back to the way the were pre-scamdemic the better off your soul will be.

they were there, right on time. you had to go to the 30-series generic page to see them. there wasnt a specfic 3070 landing page for it until later. but the individual 3070 cards showed up on the 30-series page

There is a massive logjam in the queue on 9/17 and it's going to take a while to get through the names. Everyone getting 8 hours to click "buy" is slowing it down even more. Not to mention, people who clicked notify but are not really serious about buying a card. There will probably be more of those as the queue moves along. The cost will also keep some dreamers from following through when they finally get their email. In the end, it could be the 8 hour lag that slows things down more than anything else. It's pretty safe to say that those who signed up for the queue represent a very small % of people who clicked auto-notify. For every name on the list there are 100 on auto-notify who probably don't even know it exists. The queue is going to crawl until we get through 9/17 because there are so many f'n people who signed up that day. I'm around 8:20pm on 9/17 and I don't expect to get a card for at least another month. If it happens sooner, great. I might even find a card through another retailer in the mean time, though I'm not going waste much effort on it. Bots will buy them up until toxic consumers stop overpaying for them. The queue is helpful though because it gives me a heads up that an email will be coming. That is, as long as people keep self-reporting. I definitely will when I get my email.

woot! So I have a theory based upon response time on twitter from Jacob. If he goes a long time during normal work hours without responding to someone I'm assuming that they have a big shipment in and they are prepping. He had a 40 minute time span where he didn't reply to anyone. To me that looks like a fairly long time based upon how much he tweets during the day. So in my mind he couldn't possibly be doing anything else except counting pallets and pallets of shipments ready to unleash upon the queue.

Celeras Seems pretty obvious to me. The reason the queue system was so effective the first time around is because nobody knew. You know who was waiting at 6AM for the pages to go up? Bots and scalpers. Know who was gone by 6:01AM? Bots and scalpers. Know who was browsing the site organically and stumbling upon a launch edition sku nobody knew about? Actual customers. I love it. Or, you now, all the actual customers who have failed to get a card for the past 6 weeks straight knew to be there right at 6am because EVGA gave them a heads-up ahead of time. These actual customers were ready and waiting right at 6 because they've already wasted countless hours and, in some cases, full days of their lives failing to get an Ampere GPU. They were there right on schedule and secured their place in the queue at 6. They then shifted focus to trying to secure an order at another website since there was nothing to be done at EVGA for the time being. After all, it's been 6 weeks of consistent failure, these actual customers are going to use every possible tool at their disposal to try and get their card. Only for EVGA to pull the rug out and dump another SKU that somehow takes priority over all the actual customers who were there on time to secure their place in line. Fancy that. ConradVR I did manage to get on the 3070 Launch notify list. I think it was a nice gesture as they knew bots would flood the 6:00 cards without much chance of regulars like myself getting one quickly. I tried the Canadian retailers with zero luck even seeing one in stock so I'm glad I checked the evga list 5 minutes later! ...except you did have a chance of getting one quickly, you just checked some Canadian retailers first instead. Had you checked EVGA first, you would have secured a place in line for the normal cards. The people who actually prioritized EVGA first to secure their place in line (reducing their chance of success at other retailers) are the ones who got burned. The people who went to Best Buy/Amazon/Newegg/wherever first are the ones who are getting emails today. Cool system, EVGA.

Hauler24 I signed up at the times above. I hope that is the time that they will start honoring them.
They are "honoring" queue positions by time, yes...but on a per-SKU basis. (Like the 3080's) They are not going to start up a production line, make one GPU for Bob who signed up at 6:00:00, then switch the line over to make a different card that Billy ordered at 6:00:01, then switch the line over to make another card...you get the idea. They make these things in batches. The 3080's are going out with the most expensive SKU line moving the fastest. However, it appears that the cheapest 3070 will be the first batch to go out.

I thought of it the same way. EVGA and other companies know people are snooping around and looking for web pages and URLs and SKUs that are going to be put up before they're actually up. Throwing in a random/unknown Launch Day SKU helped to combat that on some level. It is a double-edged sword though in that some/many legitimate customers were sitting there waiting to try their luck but that's just how it goes sometimes. Can't make everyone happy. But it shows they are trying to do something to combat the bots.

I wonder if the 3070 managed to pull enough people out of the 3080 queue to make a dent, or if they are just two different markets.

Their are probably people who are after specific cards, but then there's also people who are out to get what they can considering the current "demand-not-a-supply-issue" situation.
