It's such a bummer. Fatigue from this launch is insane.

I think we all feel it. I had to go outside a take a walk just to try to clear my head. I remain frustrated but adamant that I will not bend from my desire to get an EVGA card in my case and that I will not pay a scalper for my gaming goodness. So you guys are going to have to put up with me for awhile yet.

I try and take a break from time to time too but of course it's hard. I have never seen a launch with such low stock. And thank you for reiterating that we should not pay scalpers. Do not do it guys! You not only encourage them to keep doing it, but also you wouldn't get that sweet sweet EVGA warranty goodness. There is a reason we all want to buy from EVGA. And buying a card either from EVGA direct or one of their authorized dealers is the only way to go to get one their cards.

Nope I refuse to do feed the Ebanimals. I did however get a sweet deal on a 2080ti KP card that practically new, so I'll rock that until I can get a 3090.

Heck yeah man, it makes me feel much better having such a sweet card to hold me over. Now if kingpincooling gets the Tec-9 Icon pot back in stock I'll be to busy feeding it LN2 to be dwelling on the Queue.

I'm right there with you, hah. All these parts staring at me, but missing 2 very critical components. I really hope the 5950x isn't a **** show, and I can order one on launch, and have it by a few days later. I'm not worried about the GPU, as my queue time is coming sometime in the near'ish future.

Dude I've been doing it since the GTX 280 launch (for launch day at least, I bought an 2x 8800 GTX but a little while after launch). Launch day for 280 GTX in June 2008 I literally went to Newegg early morning and they had stock of every SKU for HOURS just to buy with no problem. I remember I snagged 2x EVGA 280 FTW cards stress free. Same with the 285 launch. No problems. The GTX 480 launch started to get a bit crazy, had to use a stock notifier, but cards were in stock for a while to grab. 580 launch again had no problem. Then for 680 I didn't buy on launch (crappy -104 chip) and waited for the first Titan card instead. I was able to grab 2x Titans at launch again no problem. I then sat out the 980 launch and snagged 2x980Tis at launch without issue. The real problems began with Pascal. the 1080 launch was the beginning of it REALLY being hard to get a card, but still after using nowinstock I was able to grab 2x 1080s after like 2 weeks. I waited on 1080 TI for a couple of months so I had no problem there. But of course the 2080Ti launch was again problematic but still was able to get one after a few weeks. Never have I had to wait over a month with such low stock and frustration as I have with 3090. It's really a low volume launch like none other. I know covid has caused problems, and interest has never been as high, but jeez this time it's worse then ever. It really just keeps getting worse.

Yeah this launch certainly seems more problematic to me. I had no trouble really getting an EVGA 1080 Ti, nor my current 2080 Ti when they were released. Been trying to get a 3090 FTW3 Ultra since launch day with no luck. Relying now on the Que for being able to eventually get one.

This. Back in the day I walked into a store and I walked out with a card.

It was vandalized a bunch of times in the last few days. I believe the owner has locked it for open edits. I haven't tried but I think you can edit if you join the group listed on the sheet, Or it would probably be easier at this point if you put your info into a post here someone will update it. A few of the guys have been real good with helping out with that.

At this point I think the current impact of bots is getting overstated a bit. I mean, check out the hordes of people salivating over this on discord or at instock. The bot's biggest impact isn't that they're still grabbing cards with the same ferocity, it's that they sat on so many to begin with.

Was it the unit for sale or just the auto-notify button?

justin_43Dude I've been doing it since the GTX 280 launch (for launch day at least, I bought an 2x 8800 GTX but a little while after launch). I've had a similar experience over the decades. The 10 series was the first time I had an issue getting a card from either team when I wanted one (almost always at launch).
Yup. I don't know if it was just increased interest (It's strange because all the media outlets at that time were saying PC gaming was DEAD (NOT TRUE)) or Nvidia started screwing with availability to satisfy other interests. I believe it was the later myself. Jensen started to sell GPUs to other industries than gaming and it limited the availability to us (the ones who made Nvidia profitable by the way) and now it has gone full the other way. Gaming GPUs are second class to Nvidia. Before GPGPU and compute on GPU we were all they had. Now they shaft us to sell to corporations.

Somebody can add me if they want. With all the issues I'm reading I'd rather leave it to somebody familiar with editing it. 10G-P5-3895-KR 10/07/2020 2:15:53 AM PT
