Some salt today

To all while yesterday was Thor's day today is Frigga's day and Frigga had quite a bit of power over Thor IIRC. (Being Thor's mom)

So maybe today is a good day.

15 Months ago I was eager to buy an EVGA card to make an upgrade from my EVGA 980ti (which I'm still rocking to this day). Sadly the day hasn't come yet for the notification to arrive to buy one.
I guess the new PC I've built will have to wait who knows how much for the only missing part for the whole upgrade the 3080.

Good luck to everyone.

Those are both dead queues
Idk why you signed up for the 3895 when there is an obvious shortage and by June common sense would dictate that the less expensive model wouldn't be sold through queue

Actually I signed up for 11 cards and didn't received any notifications. After the queue update I only left two hoping for a miracle but I guess it won't come. What would be your suggestion?
I guess I don't have much common sense since I'm not much of a techie person and don't follow much from this shortage.
I still want a EVGA 3080

Re: EVGA.com 30 Series Queue System 2021/12/10 08:35:24 (permalink)
On this Fabrication Friday (although Frigga Friday has a nice ring to it too (hat tip to @philipma1957)), it is important to remember that statistics can be molded to tell almost any story you want.

For example, yesterday's Newzoo report suggests that "Dedicated PC gamers" (defined as those who play weekly) represent 560 million of the 1.4 million PC gamers worldwide. Of the Dedicated PC gamers, just under 33% build their own main computer, 32% use pre-built and 38% use a laptop as their main gaming PC. While Dedicated PC gamers are typically men, women account for 40% of those who use a laptop as their main PC-gaming device. And, most importantly for our discussions, Dedicated PC gamers upgrade their hardware or major components every 3.3 years. (Whereas we all know that miners upgrade their major hardware components any *%&@&$! time they want to!)

Here is what I thought was the most interesting image from the article:

It is Friday. We are running out of queue shipping days before Christmas. Ride like a Noctua-powered wind....

Best of luck today!

Interesting, I thought there would be way more under 20 PC gamers since there are a LOT of kids uploading vids of them playing roblox, minecraft and other games online.
As for the queues, would they be activated again anytime soon? Any sort of suggestion?

Seems that the only two cards that I left on my list will not be moving anytime soon and will probably remain as dead queues.

Honestly, no one knows when or even if the queues will reopen. One would imagine they'd reopen once their backlogs are fulfilled, but that may never happen. Your best bet would be to jump in the queues for the rumored refreshes that may be launching next year or the 40 series thereafter.

Well I guess my luck has run out, so I'll just wait and maybe win the shuffle once or buy from a local stores if I can get one.

Here is why I just cry when I look at the lists.  I don't believe either card is still being produced based on the queue dates.

10G-P5-3897-KL 3/7/2021 8:18:27 AM PT No True  10/16/2020 12:01:29    (22:42:47) (corrected elapsed time parenthetical)
10G-P5-3895-KR 3/7/2021 8:17:46 AM PT No True  09/21/2020 09:57:19

I broke down and bought a 3080 Ti FTW3 Ultra for $1800. On ebay so had the satisfaction of knowing the seller barely broke even.  Was new and was able to register it here for warranty. Now I just want to get a 3090 for my other PC and I am set. Just not paying 3k plus for one.

I9-12900K - MSI Z690 Carbon - EVGA RTX 3080 TI - G Skill 6000 40 40 - Samsung 980 Pro 2TB - Fractal Torrent.

3767 and 3897 were your best bets with your time stamps and even then 3080 would still take a while, though I think 3070 is close

Well I guess my luck has run out, so I'll just wait and maybe win the shuffle once or buy from a local stores if I can get one.

Thursday mornings, ~6:55AM PST, AMD does their pretty much weekly drop. You get randomly assigned a place in line, which is INFINITELY better than Zotac's que system which is pretty much impossible unless maybe there's a bot to get you in que.

Shuffle is good, although YMMV as I'm at about 100 entries with zero luck.

Best Buy....used to be okay occasionally, but between the scalpers/bots and completely effing random drop times, it's damn near impossible.

Work some overtime or something and buy from StockX or some other 'safe' platform. If you really want to stick with EVGA, try to get a 3060 from someone and enter the Step Up program. 3080 isn't an option, so you'd have to settle for a 3070/3070ti or a 3080ti, and then wait god knows how long, but you could use the 3060 in the interim.

Best of luck today!

...

May your remaining wait be shorter than you anticipate; it is already longer than you deserve.

Best of luck!   twene

This has not been true world wide ever it is historical.

My argument is not for mining over gaming it is more or less for blending and including them in a partnership.

Right now Adel great singer does a Los Vegas tour and resellers jack up prices 5x-20x

gpus are jacked up under 3x or maybe 3x

if you game they are entertainment much like watching Adel in Vegas.

But if you buy an overpriced card at Microcenter you can offset the price by mining
If you buy an overpriced Adel ticket oh well

I actually threw in the mining reference just for you.  I figured a hat tip and a mining reference...both together would force you to respond.

Meanwhile, I upgraded straight from a PNY GTX 760 to an EVGA 3080 ti.  The old card was purchased on Black Friday 2014 and can't show the preview window in DaVinci Resolve, though my 2018 ThinkPad (witn Nvidia MX150) can.

So just to confirm, this specific GPU is up to 12/10/2020, a year to the date? Wondering cause my queue position is 12/12/2020. Anyone else get this GPU recently?

With some customers waiting for over a year to get a card and the rumor of new cards coming out (3080 with more ram and 3090ti) I think EVGA should consider giving those customers first chance to buy them, in the next queue. My Two cents.

Honestly, I wish they would allow people in the current queues to merge one position into the new queues that way the time spent waiting isn't completely lost.

Maybe Enewt could make the suggestion to the powers that be!

I don't mean to be flippant, but anybody not actually employed by EVGA who offers an estimate is full of it. There is no guidance. There is no guarantee that past drop volumes and cadences will continue. At two days away in the timeline for that card -- given how little it has moved in a year and how infrequently it drops -- you are likely months away still.  And, again, that estimate is worth less than what you've paid for it..which is approximately 45 seconds of your time reading my drivel.

Best of luck!

Seriously, though, I don't know how they could work that to make it fair for all -- inclusive of those already in the active queues that have yet to receive a card...I think we are stuck with what we've got.  Which is, in my opinion -- and despite that I am still months away from my cherished KPE HC -- better than what the other AIBs have or will offer.

Honestly, I would never expect something like this to happen. But my thought were to allow people in current queues to transfer one time stamp to a new SKU/queue of their choice. This way no one would lose the time that they've been waiting so far. I see this as the fairest solution to ensure that everyone gets a gpu from the queues.

It's truly stressful to think that we're going to have to start the process all over again and possibly wait a year for nothing... 🥴

if I had to guess, I would say that it will still be months, if at all. in january, nvidia is releasing a 12gb version of the 3080 which means it'll have to have a different bus speed as well (guessing it'll match the bus speed of a 3080 Ti). it should be an entirely new sku and I would imagine that it will replace the current variants of the 3080. honestly, the best bet at getting something like a 3080 is to go after a card that not many people want and then "step up" to a 3080. your wait will be FAR shorter. I signed up for a 3060 on day one and within 3 weeks, I was able to purchase it. I immediately signed up for the step up to a 3080 and about a month later I got my notify that it was my turn for the step up. so all in all, hardly any wait time to get a 3080 like that. sure beats signing up for a 3080 and waiting years to get one.
