In the spirit of “You got your peanut butter in my chocolate”, Mike Verdu has been hired by Netflix to further the streamer’s gaming ambitions. Mike is an experienced game maker, most recently in Mobile and AR/VR, but it will take a real commitment from Netflix to make games a meaningful part of their service…and I have serious reservations about whether they can make a bona fide go of it. Disney (including Fox Next, pre-acquisition), NBC Universal/Comcast and other Hollywood folks have all tried and abandoned the interactive path, choosing instead to de-risk their revenue stream by licensing their franchises to other, more capable hands. Mike will have his hands full…but if he can pull it off…well, let’s just say that I’ve always been a fan of Reese’s Peter Butter Cups (but not those ET-endorsed Resse’s Pieces schlock). Put another way, Mike’s success will be dependent on his high-definition (i.e., PC and console) games (Cups) and not his mobile (Pieces) efforts.
 
For those of you that didn’t come to this summary for a diatribe on gaming news, I hear you. And I apologize for slathering my peanut butter all over your chocolate.
 
P.S.  For those looking for yet more F5 battles and slammed websites, reservations for this are kicking off at 10 am PDT tomorrow (Friday). Feels a bit like the time I reserved a unit of this…for which I am still waiting (and not sure I want it).

As an aside, I received a few reports from 7:43:40 to 7:43:42, so I find that :42 time quite credible.

You mean they move in the weekend too? I would've assumed they don't since those aren't "working days". If that's so then that's good news, there is hope yet!
Also, speaking of good news, retailers seem to have started reducing their prices as well. I saw these past days, for the first time, a 3080 under 2000 Euro, it was 1500 which is still a whole lot but it's better (VAT included in those prices). Hold the line people!

The EVGA anniversary stream continues...it is a "high" quality improve stream where both hosts have been given one direction for the entire broadcast..."stretch."  
 
I am guessing today will be pretty light from a drop perspective. 
 
For those looking for yet more F5 battles and slammed websites, reservations for this are kicking off at 10 am PDT tomorrow (Friday). I have loads of questions about whether it will properly scale UI, AMD longitudinal driver support, Steam support...loads of questions.

As it approaches a year now that I have been in the F5 limited-stock game (starting with PS5 pre-orders), I have to say it has finally gotten old. It was a nice distraction during COVID, but I have been lucky enough to have my build complete since December.

I cannot imagine the frustration if you have been at it this long and still are empty-handed. But I do think it is improving week by week. Hang in there guys and girls!

The weather has been fab here in Éire and I’ve just spent three days painting various concrete garden ornaments, everything from small boots to 4’ 6” (I didn’t convert to metric) Planters, patio table and bench seats and some water features, and a few other odds and sods. 

It’s positively Roasting here as we say here and if you haven’t gone out to stare at the stars, do try to get out-and-about and have fun, it’ll do ya the power of good to wash out some of the sodium.
