Remember, the relationship with your friendly, neighborhood UPS driver is sacrosanct and enduring. On important delivery days, I sweep the spot at the curb and put up cones (yes, I am kidding).

So my daughter has her first crush. Should I be scared that her crush is much older than her? I feel like I am experiencing for the first time what my female peers went through in their "Teen Beat" days. I had no idea. None.
 
Why do I mention it today of all days? Well, apparently McDonald's has a BTS promotion that starts tonight. So, yup, the whole family is making a pilgrimage and I am busy preparing my stomach for some McD's.... This thing had better be more than just two limited time McNugget sauces not usually offered in the US...otherwise my daughter is going to be crushed. I'll be scraping her off the floor of the car when we get home. 
 
Which BTS member is her favorite? That was my first question too. She won't say. I fear she'll just take any of them...and I keep preaching about the need for standards. Not that I object to any of them per se (other than their age), but I would just want her to apply some objective criteria, have an opinion and choose just one...and then she points out my recent change in strategy regarding which EVGA queues I've entered...and I am shocked into silence. I am not smooth like butter.  My kid may be need some help in the romance department, but she is well on her way to a career in the law.
 
In other news, Camel Day offered some decent drops...with a good amount of movement in the 3897 queue, among others.  
 
If the McD's doesn't lay me up, I'll see you back here tomorrow.

Congrats on your new cards everyone who got the emails today! I've decided that unless I'm blown away by the price for the 3080ti hybrid (assuming there is one...and assuming I won't be lol), I'm probably just sitting this gen out. Happy to pop in now and then and try to add some good vibes, but I'm just not convinced I want a 30-series at the moment and I hear 40-series, although it'll be another year for that, is going to be BIG. Hopefully that's a good thing lol. I also feel like with my 2080 Super, I'm in a better place than many folks, and it would be selfish of me to push my way into a new card that someone needs more than me.
 
So I'm mostly in the z590 section, trying to help each other OC the pants off our 11900k's lol. Good luck everyone!

Just curious, what do you have running on the garage rig? Is it a gaming rig, media rig and/or mining rig?  Or is the garage just a fancy word for mancave?

My garage rig was supposed to be a storage server of sorts (3600/gt710/8gb) with a plan to try and set it up for remote gaming (using main rig in house - 8700k/3080) to stream games across network but I never got that off the ground. With the lady always on conference calls seemingly 24/7 these days I get no time to game SO perhaps this card upgrade will help get me off my butt to explore gaming locally in garage OR trying the LAN streaming deal for perhaps some better quality. I still need a decent monitor either way though so..uhhg.. more $$$$

WOW! AWESOME drop for the 3897 today! Congrats to all of those who got their emails :) It figures that once again, when I'm too busy to check the forum at work, there's a huge drop. Maybe I should just leave the forum permanently and then it will rain. O_o

I honestly can't blame her. I'm a straight, married male but if I had the chance to partner up with one of the Bulletproof Boy Scouts, I would do it in a heartbeat - doesn't even matter which one. Maybe that's just the gold-digger in me talking. Although RM would be my choice if I had one!
 
Regarding the announcement next week, as an East Coaster, 1 AM is going to be rough for me to get up just to watch an announcement before going back to bed and waking up at 5:30 AM for work.. Maybe I'll just sit this one out and watch the recap later. I'm more concerned with when the queue for the 3080 Ti opens anyways sooooo looks like I will be stalking this forum for a while longer. To be honest though, I'll probably stick around even after receiving a card until this thread dies because you guys are a bunch of swell people and I like you. Unless you don't like me, in which case I will resort to lurking!

I got the email today for a 3080 and I got 3 error codes when trying to check out with paypal and to then get notified by paypal that the charge is pending 3 times and at this point I don't know what to do and I am afraid it will all get canceled and the timed link will expire. Really nervous and worried :/ I sent an email to but who knows when they will respond, will probably be too late.

Regarding the announcement, I doubt you will miss much beyond a faux kitchen backdrop....just get up by 5:50 am PT in the very remote chance that EVGA does something crazy at 6 am PT (I doubt that will be the case...but hope springs...).

I would trade a BTS member for an Enewt so you have nothing to worry about ;) JK
 
I will be up by 2:30 AM PT and at work by 4 AM PT, so it will just be a matter of whether I have the time to check the site for a chance at something happening or not. Hope does spring, indeed. lol

It doesn't seem much like EVGA's style lately. I think they'll announce something on or around that date, but queues will open up at 9am or 10am PT on a different day. I suspect there will be around 24-48h notice about the queue time via Jacob on Twitter. Of course this is just conjecture, but it would fit the recent pattern.

True, but this could be the ultimate chance to beat out the scalpers and bots, right? With how everyone knows about the queues, maybe sneaking in the opening before making an announcement and giving them time to write scripts to reward just avid EVGA fans and people on the forums would be a good move for us in here. Doubtful, but it doesn't hurt to check just in the off chance they do something crazy!

I called and talked to Matthew and he gave me some help regarding the issue and what to do if things do not work out, I also tried to go through the link again and use a different method of payment and it told me that I already had purchased the card saying in a red font color "You already reached the product limit of product(s):
EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 FTW3 ULTRA GAMING, 10G-P5-3897-KR, 10GB GDDR6X, iCX3 Technology, ARGB LED, Metal Backplate (10G-P5-3897-KR) (Limit Qty:1, You have bought 1 qty(s))"
