Does the reservation queue also apply to PSU's?

I don't believe so, the PSUs that are out of stock are out of stock - I think they're switching supplier or something to that effect, and that's why some of their PSUs have been out of stock for most of the last 3 months.

Well, there are quite a few in stock at the moment, and I see "Auto notify" for some too.  Guess it depends on which one you want.

This is my first time looking at higher end PSU's for a bit... Surprised to see everything out of stock and being scalped.  Guess I'll try my luck with the Auto-Notify race.

Glad you indicated that there are several people who have an Associates Code....hint, hint...

After the whambulancemobile bit about how I "flaunt my code" and "don't really do anything to "deserve" people using it", I figured being more blatant with the fact that I'm saying USE A CODE, ANY CODE instead of highlighting just mine & ENewt's, to prove my point that it's about getting people a free fruggin' discount and not necessarily using mine, was a good approach.

Well I just checked my Associates Code activity and lo and behold, two people used my code last week for the first time.
Thank you to those who used my code.

It just occurred to me that we are quickly approaching the half year mark for when some of these products went live.  To think that in six months, some of these products have only moved a handful of days in the queue...   It's really something.

Best of luck to everyone this week.  I was on pace to get my email for an XC 3080 on the next major drop, but unfortunately it seems that queue has fully dried up at this point.  I regretfully didn't join the FTW queue at the same time so I'm way behind in that list.  If only I knew then what I know now! Haha.

It's at least partly because of mining operations - a lot of high end PSUs are selling out fast when they come in stock, I'm sure some of them are being scalped as well.

What PSU / build are you looking to do?  Because this here beefcake: https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=220-P2-0850-X1 will suit most "normal" builds, and it's in stock.

That's awesome!  Every little bit helps, you can look at it the way I am: it's either gonna be funding towards making my upgrade to Z590/11900K a bit less expensive, or it'll be saving up towards a 4080/4090 in 2022 lol
I'm 100% getting an eVGA Z590 Dark because I love the look of the board & the visuals I have in my head for a copper/black build with a bronzed-tone of lighting effects is really looking awesome, so any discounts given that result in that being a bit cheaper are much appreciated.

I know one person, can't remember who it was, in the Kingpin thread, posted a snippet of their checkout screen... I think part of his eVGA Bucks were from folding & other stuff too, but let's just say he paid less out of pocket for his Kingpin than most people are paying for a 3060 Ti.  That's some serious "saving up for THE BIG ONE"

Similar to my plans for my build's last evolution for this year.  11900K, Z590 Dark, with the Kingpin up in there, and some fancy smanshee Trident Z Royal Gold, bronze/copper lighting with all the RGB stuff I have, it's going to look sick when I'm done with it... I hope O_o :-D

If it weren't for the reports of the 11900K hitting well north of 200W when OCed under load, I'd say 850W would definitely be enough, but hearing that, and the fact that the 3090 FTW3 will "eventually" be able to hit it's "500W" XOC BIOS power limit, yeah that's getting in to iffyville, even with a unit as stout as that one is sure to be.

I went severe overkill when I purchased my PSU (even though I was planning a Titan Xp SLi setup at the time) and it has served me well since purchase through a multi GPU setup or two so far.

It is hard to say "please use my associate's code" and not feel like you are inherently self-promoting.  I have basically stuck with the phrase "please remember to apply an associate's code on checkout, there are a bunch out there available, I want to see people take advantage of the program and not turn down free money.  That being said, here is mine if you'd like to use it."

Makes me feel a little less greasy and not like I am pushing people to use my code.

I'd wager slightly above zero.

The bright side of this coin would be even if you sign up for the Kingpin now, there's a decent chance your wait won't be super long, as that queue is quite small (because $2000 card, Elite membership required, etc) compared to every other queue on the video card front.

I only mentioned it because I recently finally drug a LEPA G 1600W PSU I've had sitting on the shelf for 2+ years (since I got the eVGA 1200W Platinum PSU) and sold it on to get that heavy-arse box off me shelves, and the guy that bought it explicitly stated he was going to be using it in a multi-GPU setup for "various applications" so to be "sure to include all the GPU cables".  Guy paid the BIN price instead of even trying to bid so I take from that he either A: really wanted a high wattage PSU and with the shortage, didn't wanna wait, or B: money is no object cuz it's for a mining rig.  I'll never know, since it's going from me to NYC then to Kuwait  And the "To Kuwait" part ain't my problem cuz the listing was restricted to U.S. only, once it was signed for in NYC my job was done in terms of insuring intact delivery.
But she was packaged to withstand a tank hit, airpack all around & most of the outside of the outer box was supported with tape to semi-waterproof the box, at least from snow, I hope.

Well my previous phrasing was:

  • Don't forget to use an Associate's Code during checkout, it will save you 3% off your GPU purchase, and up to 10% on other purchases.  All you have to do is use the code at checkout (a few useful ones: Mine: 47AQQ6KPU2IZNXY - Enewt's: VDN2319M4O569J4 ) or click the links there & it will make a cookie to insert the code automatically during checkout, then when you receive your card, be sure to register it & upload your invoice from the EVGA order page.  My eVGA bucks from this in particular will be going to a Z590 Dark board, so I appreciate anyone that uses my code greatly ;)

So I went halfway between promoting general use & self promotion.

I harken back to my "mobile version of this forum makes me want to frisbee my phone in to a running lawn mower" comment from several days ago.  I have no idea how to fix this either.  The mobile version of dis forum is $PEC!AL

I bet it's more than that.  It's the Kingpin card, but EVGA's customer service is also really great.  I just wish they made an itx motherboard, if they did, I would get it even if it meant a more expensive intel CPU.

Considering a 9900K OC'd (all Cores) to 5.2Ghz w 1.4v (vcore) can peak between 300W - 400W I would say your "well north of 200W" is being quite conservative. (of course this all dependent on vcore applied).
As always with PSU, keeping your load to around 60% of rated will keep you in the "high efficiency" park....vs running PSU at say 85%......
OC'ing both GPU and CPU adds a whole lot to the equation, a lot more than folks....on the other hand how often do you run both your CPU and GPU under "max load" simultaneously.

what are the chances EVGA let me buy a kingpin from an email i got 3+ months ago? lol

If you got an invite to purchase email (it likely came from ordernotify@evga.com) for a KPE and missed it, reply to the email (indicating your desire to purchase the card).  And then call EVGA customer service (1.888.881.EVGA (3842)).  It is quite late, but they may come through for you.  In my opinion, it is worth the minutes on hold with EVGA customer care.  Good luck!

So two hours in and no one has posted e-mail drops.  It doesn't look like a good start for this week lol

Dabadger84 gets a lot of flak, but you will not find many 3090 owners like him outright saying you are fine with a 3080. He is the reason I have not yet pulled the trigger on a 3090

For sure. He has solid points.  He also deserves some of the flak.  I'm cool not giving him more flak, but he also has to stop hitting the buttons.  Whambulance.

I'm beginning to get the impression that the eVGA staff might have been at Super Bowl parties last night...doesn't look like there is any movement at all yet today
